SSM played the same Calgary Edge School both Saturday & Sunday last weekend. I watched both -- the Calgary school's lineup was the same both days. On Sunday, there were SSM players playing who did not play on Saturday. Iceburg's probably correct in that some kids from a lower level SSM were pull...

Watched a couple SSM games recently. It looked like about half the roster was different for the Sunday game vs. Saturday game. Huge difference between the two different lineups and makes me wonder who they suit up for the MN HS team games.

I thought I heard they were in that walleye cup with the blades at the younger levels last summer but don't know how they did.
MG managed about 5 shots on net in their game against 02 Blades at Golden Walleye. MG's GW team had what they considered upgrades over their regular summer roster. I...

We [ fl] don't allow mite move ups.. I think WBL had a kid play squirt A, And a couple B. Maybe something we should look @. It's a #'s thing for us. Keep all thye kids you can at the cheaper $ level. My opinion is put the best teams on the ice you can. If you have a 2 yr old that is squirt A qualit...

I have no idea what the other teams are bringing to the tournament, to prognosticate about wins. But I expect the Blades will be very competitive in this, if nothing else due to the prep work they've done leading up to the tournament.

Finally someone agrees. FL is doing lots of things wrong. There is no commitment by anyone. We're happy being mediocre. It's who we are.
Sounds like sour grapes from a guy who thinks his kid is too good to be a 3rd liner. You should get together with DMom who also seems to think she knows ho...

Out of a Twin Cities district there was a game with an on-ice ref who is in a relationship with a district official and that district official has a skater on the ice. Any calls affected? Don't know. Would everyone, probably including the on-ice ref, wish to avoid it? I would guess yes. At the end o...

If my son's association became involved in summer hockey I would look for a third alternative - dealing with the association's ineptitude from October to February is already more than I care to deal with.

$1295 is just to be on the team I take it. That # is not much less than others -- I think the Blades run $1400 or so, Icemen are similar. I won't say I know the cost of all the teams out there & I am sure you're right that some run at $1800 or more. You're still less expensive to be on the team ...

There's no chance either Roseville or Forest Lake will be anything more than middle of the pack in D2.

Re: I can't believe I broke my silence for this.

No, I am a parent of a skater involved at the 2001 level and I could care less to rank the teams, if you and your child are happy with the team, if you and your child are being treated with respect, if your child is improving those things I care about. Which team is better? No. Some of these program...

If you are a parent of a skater involved in whatever year is being discussed, then the conversation matters, the games matter, etc. and rightfully so because it is pertinent to your kid. There's no shame in caring and there's no lack of wisdom in hooting and hollering at games. If you're not the par...

Experience with MN Icemen or Team Bauer Supreme

I would appreciate anyone commenting on their experiences with either of the organizations or the folks running the 2001 teams for each. Thanks.

Those kids are covered by the current system. They stay with their grade because of the July first date. The only people in an uproar about them are the parents who can't stand another year of mite hockey and "have" to have their child play squirts, and than only if they are first time ho...
