Just my opinion New Ulm probably early season favorite, good core although last Burgau will be solid with experience up front and on the blue line. Reinarts will be one of the top players in the section and had a goaltender prove himself last year near end Marshall -YOUNG,lost lots of their scoring....

Ethan should not be allowed to ref another high school game. NU did play better and deserved it but 10-4 in penalties and putting Marshall shorthanded 4 times in the first period is a good way to make their top players tired. Very entertaining game for a little over 2 periods but the penalties hurt ...

Tony Krogen of Marshall pulled the Michigan goal this season against Mankato East, behind the net picking it up and throwing it in. Has to be one of the top if not the best goal scored this year in high school hockey.

Interesting on what this person thinks of the section. Don't agree with it as in who he thinks is going to be the winner, I think teams 1-5 could take this thing and NU will not walk through this section.

I don't really see any upsets here and IMO the top 4 will move on and after that I think its any team could win. Everyone has beaten everyone, Wilmar has beat NU, Marshall had a 4 goal lead on Litch, Hutch lost to NU by 4, Marshall-NU traded big wins and Marshall-Willmar have traded wins. All 5 of t...

I wasn't at the NU/Marshall game but I wouldn't call Krogen lazy from games I have seen especially if he is about 10th in the state in points with 56 points and closing in on 40 goals already according to geocities. The team works around him and if he scores they succeed. The Gophers only do the sti...

How many goals does he have? I see Stafne has 35, Krogen has 33 and Lehrke 32.

No there isn't another team with as many younger guys as Marshall has but now due to some injuries they have an 8th grader playing in the top 4 D. They should be healthy though by the time playoffs come around as they lost one of there best defensemen for 4-6 weeks while playing Lourdes.

Can you give me a link to this information that ranks all junior defensemen in the state?
http://www.geocities.com/dent0110/players2008.html

Burgau and Kohn listed in the Juniors, Krogen from Marshall listed in the top Seniors. Great site for rankings, players, etc.

New Ulm was very undisciplined taking dumb penalties like the 4 minute penalty to end the 2nd with Marshall up 4-1 that just gave Marshall all the momentum into the last period and ended up scoring to make it a 4 goal lead and coasted in from there. Scoring from the game-not sure if its right but fr...

You can't base anything off summer scrimmages. A lot of Marshall's top players aren't able to make the summer games with baseball and golf they were really short handed all summer playing with a lot of freshman and sophomores. I'm not sure who that Eisenmenger is and didn't notice him in the Marshal...

With a new section and everything who were even some of the leading scorers on their teams last year and who are the players to look out for this year? Anybody know where you can find some stats from last year? What are some scrimmages some of these teams will be participating in coming up in the ne...

This time of year it is going to matter who the teams best players are and who has the best leaders. These types of players are going to caring there teams and get them to that next level. As far as best players in the section i think walton is the best he has been around the longest. He really work...

Goldenjet i would have to agree with you for the most part on this one. I thought the game was a very sloppy one for both teams especially for Marshall. But they did find a way to dominate the game terrirorally. Haukom played a great game. The third period was an entertaining period of hockey along ...

The reffing in high school hockey has gone to far...most of the refs especially in this region but its happening all over the state are idiots...a body check is not a penalty its part of the game...i agree with cleaning up the game but its turning more and more into not being hockey

Is Waalkens a Sophomore or Junior. If I remember right he was very good in youth hockey I dont know if he had an off night or just got rusty in throughout the game. What happened to West and New Ulm? All we hear about is how good West is going to be this year and then they get bombed by New Prague. ...
