What are some of the best goals or saves that you've seen this season?

here's one
Gleason had a goal in the televised game on November 29th where Edina beat Century that was very impressive.
Shorthanded he passed down the ice to a waiting Winger at center ice who skated across the blue line, then fed to the slot to catch a breaking player. Since the goalscorer was out of the picture on TV it was hard to follow what happened. I had to rewind a few times to make sense of it.
Gleason made the breakout pass from Left D and took off down the ice only to receive the other half of a nearly 200' give-and-go as the Right W. All happened in about 5 seconds. Shorthanded! (I think he exploited a Century linechange.)
I'm sure there are many more this season so I'm interested in what others have to say.

At least you were the one to break the ice, not any of us.east hockey wrote:Shhhh...at least it's not about Edina or Roseau.Neutron 14 wrote:This thread is just what we needed.
Oops, my bad.
Lee
Aaron Ness' goal against St. Cloud Tech where he dangles around almost all of the Tech team (twice) is pretty cool. It's on youtube and has previously been discussed on here.
The U invented swagger.
Do you sense trouble on the horizon? Well... here it comes!Neutron 14 wrote:This thread is just what we needed.
Johnson's Trent Krueger scoring 6 goals at home was the best performance I saw all year. It was nice to have that level of excitement at a Governor game again (despite the competition).
I'll also add one of the nicest surprises I saw all year was Hopkins, particularly Fons and Boyd. Unless those two jump ship for a private school or something, that's a SOLID foundation for the Royals to build on for the next couple of years and it could make them even more of a threat than they are now.

Since there are a few other teams in Minnesota aside from Edina and Roseau, here are what I feel were Duluth East's top 3 goals of the year:
3. Mike Renier dangling his way through the entire Superior team to tie the game up.
2. Max Tardy from his knees in the win over Forest Lake.
1. Dillon Friday from the blue line to seal the win over Cloquet.

The 2007-08 regular season will be memorable to me for a few reasons.
Edina playing “silver” at the Schwans
Hopkins and their out of no where season
Roseau going undefeated but ohh that schedule
The frigid Baudette games
The unpredictability of the SEC – Damn that Hastings team played a good spoiler
The Faribault player, Alex Larson, and his incident that reminded us to not lose perspective on what is important in youth/H.S hockey
My homer team (Roseville) putting together a respectable season led by a great young man (Mueller) who I personally believe is one of the best high school hockey players I will likely ever see
But as to the goal of the season – the one that clearly stands out for me is the last second goal scored by BSM when they played Tonka only to be waived off by the refs. Those Red Knights played hard and stayed with it and I thought it was most unfortunate that they didn’t get the call that would have tied it up. Twas a memorable and hard fought game.

I almost missed it too, and I was down at ice level near the Cloquet goal at that point. Suddenly, there was this puck flying at the net; I had no clue who shot it. It was fun watching bedlam break out in the East stands opposite me.
