Best of luck in the future, and congrats for all the past success, Coach Haskins. I didn't have a son that played for him, didn't have to deal with him on a daily basis, but from a professional standpoint, he was an awesome representative of Lourdes, imo. Yes, he had good talent every year, but that...

May be a little early, but who's the team to beat out of the new 1A Lourdes, Red Wing, Mankato West, Albert Lea, Northfield, Faribault. Agree with this list above. Can't comment on Northfield/RW, haven't seen them much. Lourdes - seemed very young this year, lose some, but had some great sophs and ...

Thanks for bringing this up. How you lose shows a lot about your character. It's never fun, but as in everything else, how you handle it is up to you. GR battled but came up short. Roseau played great at the right time this year and handled that well, also. The Rams spent no time rubbing it in or ac...

Thanks for the play-by-play.
Congrats Hermantown!
When you look at the overall A tourney, what a close group of teams this year.
No one was head and shoulders above or below. Very equal teams, imo. made for a good tourney.

Thanks, wbd - did see some of it, so I get what you mean. Figured this would be a tight matchup, they seem similar to me. Saw several of these guys as Sqts/Pws/Bants thru the years, it's great to see them all grow into such great players. Appreciate the updates. Keep 'em comin'. Not as hardcore for ...

Re: Casanova and AL

Casanova has played great in this tournament and pretty much great all year. I know he's had his doubters in the past and I for one am glad to see him succeed. Congratulations to Clay and the Albert Lea team for an outstanding season and I hope they beat Orono. AL represented Southern Minnesota wel...

I've always agreed that Aaron Marvin has been quite a player.
If he somehow takes over and wins this thing for Warroad, I'd be even more impressed.
There's good, solid players.
Then there's great players.
Then.... there are legends.
Spehar's hattys come to mind.

Bruce Plante said "That was ugly". Bruce's words should be music to Warroad's ears. That was 2006-2007 8 A hockey at its best. Three Yards and Cloud of Dust. Didn't seem so ugly to me. For the most part, play was wide open, several 2x1's and players getting to the net. That's coach-speak ...

Wow, after watching the two games the other night, I'd have bet good money that the Hermantown/LFalls pace was more than the Warroad/AL winner would be able to handle. Nope. AL helped prove that yesterday when they handled LFalls. Glad I'm not a betting man. Who'dathunk it? AL got the bad draw...

Seems like a resurface usually sparks something in OT games.
Probably won't go more than a couple minutes in before we get a game-winner.

I thought AL would struggle with an offensive-minded club, too.
But then they played LFalls yesterday, and look what happened.
Roy and his boys keep it rollin'.
Another 5-2 or 5-3 win for AL.

Nailed it, SiouxFan. Century needs to believe they can do it, because they can. Their strengths, as you say, make this a good matchup for them. As some have said, their game against HM was not a fluke, but I'm glad the rest of the state thinks it was. These kids can play. A couple of the better Cent...

I can't believe more isn't being said about Hermantown's LeBlanc. Best player on the ice in the LF/Hermantown game, imo. (Many good ones to choose from). Last roster sheet I saw listed him as 6'1" and 185.
But that was at the Iron Range All-Star game at the end of last year.
Possibly bigger at this point. Looks stronger.

This guy is an absolute trainwreck. It's difficult to take what he says seriously! Great effort from AL last night. Not unexpected by those of us who have played them. Pretty much gave all they could to win that thing. Walton had his hands full neutralizing Marvin. Ahrendt showed what a player he really is, creating half the chances AL had. Royce created the other half. Casanova w...

Agreed. AL got the perfect draw. AL would struggle to match Hermantown/DMarshall/LFalls offense, but they will be looking in a mirror against Warroad. First-line centers are tough, hard-nosed kids who run the show. Both teams are physical at all positions and don't allow any easy chances. This is th...

Local TV caught some of the scrap after the game.
If that doesn't get you there, go to keyc.tv.com and search for NU/West hockey.
