I don't want this to lead to a negative thread, but my first two deserve recognition on this topic. Tony Sarsland - Elk River, some very talented teams in his career Russ Welch - South St. Paul/Hastings, some great teams at both schools Cary Eades - Warroad, brought some great teams down to the Civi...

I think this game couldn't have come at a better time for Hastings. Regardless of who is in the lineup or not for WBL, a win tonight will move the confindence level up a notch for the Hastings squad. Hastings has proved they can come out of the gate fast with some of the better teams. If they can pu...

Hastings is coming off a pretty lackluster performance against Forest Lake last night. They had a tough time getting the puck out of their own zone and produced very little offense with only 13 shots on goal. The 1st line will have to step it up a notch, but in the end Stillwater is a little deeper ...

Congrats On 400

Congratulations to coach Russ Welch of Hastings on winning game 400 last night against Roseville. Very impressive career to say the least.

Who are some other coaches in the 400 club and beyond?

Eagan will have to play a lot better than they did against Hastings. Casper seemed to struggle a bit on the few shots he faced.

Eagan - 2

Nice call on SSP rebounding Mr. Secord; Welch has been out of there for 12 years and you say now there starting to come around. Boy 12 years is a hell of long time to wait to be competitive again. And would you stop with the Stewart and Stepan talk. Stewart is an average fourth liner at Mankato and ...

Re: Hastings (8-15-2) at Eagan (16-8-1) 3AA

Prediction: Welch has the boys ready, Gleisner stands on his head, and Hastings pulls the upset.

Its a whole new season and like it or not upsets will happen.

Hastings - 4
Eagan - 1

Hastings power play was 0-10 and a couple of those were 5-3. Your not going to win games if you can't score on the power play. When a team of WBL caliber spots you that many power plays you need to put the puck in the net its as simple as that.

The only chance Hastings had in this game was in the first period, CDH came out really flat and for the most part Hastings out played them. Hastings did have the chances to get out of the first period with a 2-3 goal lead, but some solid goaltending by CDH prevented that from happening. .....And the...

Hastings couldn't match WBL speed last night and as usual Gleisner faced 28 shots in 2 periods before he was pulled. This kid is a solid goalie (a lot better than his stats show), but with no defense and shots coming from all over, he does his best to make the first save.

If Hastings plays tonight as well as they did against Woodbury and Gleisner stands on his head they could pull the upset. They can't allow WBL to get on the board early or it could be a long night for Hastings.
