Re EP

I dont think it matters what you call it. If your opponents cant stop it and you score lots of goals by doing it I would call say its a good thing. Gaborik for the wild tries to get behind the D all the time and occassionally gets breakaways off it. I would call it using your speed to gain an advant...

LPH Final rankings

How you can rank Cloquet above Stillwater is beyond me. Stillwater beat them twice, 5-1 and 3-1 outshooting them by a wide margin, had a better record and played a tougher schedule. Only one team in the state had more wins and they ended up as state champs.
Only thing i can figure is they only lo...

EP

I too saw #15 for EP a couple times and my immediate thought about her was she was a pretty good playmaker besides being a threat whenever she had the puck. I am a Stillwater fan and she put the dagger in us with that shorty she scored in the third period. Sure, she has alot of talent around her, bu...

Re: U19 post season

It my humble opinion all these leagues are a waste of time anyway. If i was a head coach i would tell my players to sign up for skills camps not elite leagues. I have heard to many girls tell me its all political anyway. If i am a college coach i would be asking some of these camp developers about p...

And how do you think NSP would have done without Thunstrom? Whats your point? Throw them both out of the game and Stillwater still wins.

Stillwater vs. EP replay

As stated by mnhockeygal the goal should have never been disallowed. The officials messed up. I can't put it any plainer than this. The review cannot be initiated by a coach, it has to come from an on ice or replay official in the booth and thats not what happend. A hand pass is not reviewable. The ...

hockeyjock18 you have no idea of what your talking about and it disgusts me that people like you are even allowed to put up posts like that. To say her teammates dont like her is BULL, they get along with her just great. I also think you better get your facts straight about the violations before you...

state tournament seeding

I would tend to think that for the same reasons we seed sections it would make sense to seed the state tournament. If not, why do we seed sections? why not make them random as well? Let me state that there is no perfect system and the seeding will not always be unanimous but it still makes sense to ...

The MSHSL had the Girls and boys soccer tournaments seeded this year on a trial basis i believe. Maybe they will start seeding other sports now that it went well for soccer.

There alot of players deserving of the award but Chelsey Jones is the most dominating player on both ends of the ice and has the best shot in girls hockey.

helmets for coaches

My only question is where is all the evidence that this is a real problem? Give me the facts, are we making coaches wear helmets because of one or two incidents? Are coaches getting hurt on a regular basis because of not wearing helmets? I can tell you far more get hit in the shins by deflected shot...

coaches helmets

In my opinion this is just another example of overreacting to a percieved safety issue. Youth hockey should spend more time figuring out how to train officials properly to get the game back under control and spend less time worrying about coaches wearing helmets. The boys High school game is out of ...

I dont see cretin with that many quality wins, only beaten 5 teams with record over 500. I give the edge in this section to Holy Angels, with burnsville, cretin and eagan close contenders.

Re missing the point

GHS, your comments are right on the money on this one. For some reason a few people can't have respectful disagreements but need to rip on people they dont agree with. Fine, you dont like what someone says, as long as that person isnt making personal attacks on someone you should respect their opini...

well i guess we will just have to agree to disagree on this on. I have seen these same top teams play the last few years and there is no difference. Most of last years top ten teams are the same anyway. I still say whats the difference between EP this year and SSP last year? And if they are so far a...

Re good teams

I think it is just the opposite hubba, the teams are getting much more balanced with the depth of girls hockey getting better each year. Don't confuse depth with weakness. There are alot of very good teams out there. Not sure how you can say the others besides EP are just decent. Compare EP to SSP l...

Re; school first

She should stay where she is at and play with her friends. Have fun, enjoy her experience. If she really wants to improve as a player she should take it upon herself to do that not lay it on a coach. Does she do any training on her own? Shooting, stickhandling? You are putting to much emphasis on wh...
