Goalie dilemma

Post by RLStars »

Section 8 had three goalies at tryouts. The SC Cathedral goalie would have been the best there IMO , most likely he was the best at the West Metro too if you read some earlier posts, but I'm not going there . I've seen him play and he is very good.

I think there was a lot of confusion with the addition of the West Metro team. I've heard that Section 8 did not want to lose the River Lakes, St. Cloud (all three) and Monticello teams<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/mad.gif ALT=">:"> . I think that some of the St. Cloud kids went to the West Metro tryouts because it was closer and less of a drive. I'm only guessing here.

Like I stated before, I think the West Metro team should go away and they should stick strictly to Section lines. Have the team play and practice at a centrally located arena (as close as possible), or move them around the section.

The Section 8 tryout was very professional and fair (as far as I know). They had an hour of skills and two hours of scrimmages. The scrimmages went from 5-5 to 4-4, back and forth the whole time. Absolutely no cheap play and that was told to the kids before they stepped on the ice.

RL Stars, I think the St. Cloud kids were invited only to the West Metro....because that was the section they were slated to try out in. I don't think anyone was given a choice as to where to try out because that would, in my opinion, give rise to more chaos for tryouts. But I guess I don't really know what may have been offered up in this league.

I know for a fact that 4 kids from Apollo where at the Section 8 tryouts and two from River Lakes. Some of those kids were on the section 8 team last year. Like I said, I think there was some confusion about where to go. Section 8 did not want to lose those teams players. I was not at the West Metro, but it seems the Cathedral and Monticello boys went there. I Would think Tech kids went to the West Metro also, they were not at the Section 8 tryout.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... Interesting....if you go back to a post of 8/1 on this thread, puckhead63 sets forth the schools of the kids who were invited to West Metro for tryouts. I believe this is accurate....hmmmmm....so, the way I understand it, Section 8 may have called the shots on who from that list of schools remained in their real section....like Apollo. I couldn't tell you for certain if Tech kids were at the West Metro tryouts. At any rate, this just adds to the "color" of things in this year's tryouts.

At the West Metro tryout, right? That means Apollo apparently stayed with Sec. 8 even though they were to have tried out with West Metro...or at least from the information available to those following this league, this appears to be the case.

Alex Hess is now on the West Metro elite II team, as a regular goalie not an alternate.

Do you know who the goalies are for Section 8 and who was in net for them during their win against West Metro? Also do we know where to find rosters of all Elite II sections? Or is there not availability yet?
