Edina Defense
Edina has been giving up a lot of goals in the early going. What gives?

If Edina doesn't get excellent goaltending every night, it's going to be a struggle. From what I can see at this point, Edina has six forwards -- Fogarty, Sit, Walker, Sampson, Cote, and Nanne -- who will have to log a lot of ice time for Edina to have a shot. It seems as though Giles is going with four D, and those four D are by no means overpowering physically, seem to lack real finesse, and cannot consistently compete with the state's top forwards.

It seemed to be far more of a pushing match than a brawl. I didn't see helmets or gloves scattered about the ice. I'm sure there will be no suspensions, as the kids seemed to separate with a little prodding by the referees. I guess to me this wouldn't fall in the brawl category. It was more of a wrestling match. My opinion is based on the Canadian hockey dictionary definition of a brawl. However, we are talking about the kinder, gentler, MN high school league, so we'll have to wait and see.
