let them play
My son played in a tournament in April that not only had a 2003 division, it allowed checking. Minuteman Flames event in Marlborough, Massachusetts.HockeyDad41 wrote:I'm impressed. They have a 2003 maleAAA Division.

I don't know of any '03 programs around here. I wonder if a headstart like that makes much of a difference?

If anyone wants updates on the 96 Legacy, let me know. I am in Winnipeg. They start with a Calgary Jr. Flames team tonight at 9PM that smoked them last year (13-1 I believe). The Flames and the Saskatoon Jr. Blades are generally considered the class of western Canada. The only other Minnesota team in the 96 division is Team Torspo, but they are in the other bracket, playing in different rinks, so I can't help much with updating their games.

I promised an update and, as much as it pains me, here is is.
96 Calgary Jr. Flames 9, 96 Legacy 3. Pretty easy equation on this one. -The Flames were brilliant and the Legacy was pretty awful. It was tied 2-2 after the first period. That is when the implosion began. Final shots were 52-30 in favor of Calgary, but the quality of the shots was the real story. I have never seen a team consistently find a way to get the puck to an open man in front like the Flames did. I think the Legacy goalie was on a first name basis with the Flame forwards. They are a phenomonal team.
Now lets see if the Legacy can regroup and get a couple wins tomorrow against the Manitoba Jr. Steelers (Legacy beat them twice in a tourney earlier this year 5-0 and 6-1) andthe Vancouver Selects (another very talented squad).
Time for sleep.

Also that Elite team they call the 2000 Icemen. How would they have done against the field of teams like the Vipers, Torspo, Vancouver Selects, and other brick teams, we know they can't keep up with the Machine which I would consider the best 2000 team in Minnesota, not to mention the U.S.
