How depressing.
As for this game:
WBL-6 RV-3
Second, my son isn't even going. He is hangin' with his galpal....
Looks like it will be me and Super Fan George!!
The way my predictions have been going as of late, I have to root for Roseville. I am 3-382 now.... So, I will pick Roseville to win 3-2.

WBL had a good, not very good game. The speed of WBL caused many penalties, and Roseville shot themselves in the foot as a result, and never could get any real momentum.
Schletty had a couple posts rung, and escaped some early on, being-out- of-position situations, but Roseville didn't have nearly the same enthusiasm as the last game of the season, and you have to credit WBL with some better backchecking and defensive play.
Roseville's goalie made a few very good saves to keep Roseville in the game, as the line of Birki, Wahlin and Hauswirth moved the puck well, and on a couple PPs that weren't converted, some good shots on goal.
The downside is that I still feel WBL will have to play better in the semi's. Roseville is an undermanned team this year, and a 4-1 score with a EN goal with 2:30 minutes left leaves something to be desired for the WBL faithful.
H-M played a pretty lackluster game, too, but still managed to outshoot Como 48-8.

I didn't get to the H-M game until it just turned 4-0, by Chuck Sampair... I was too busy being a social butterfly, chit chatting with some people, but from what it was pointed out to me that basically Como had everyone down low looking to block shots.Go-Wild! wrote:GFD - What did you think of the defensive scheme that Como played in the Hill game?
If that was the case, it sure didn't work, as the majority of shots that hit the net were from in close. However, it was somewhat successful, as there were only a few very good saves by the Como goalie. He stayed in front of the puck.
It sure did seem that the H-M d-men were trying to get the shots on goal, as for the most part, they could walk in to dang near the tops of the circles.
I will say this.... when I walked in and it was only like 3-0 with about 6 minutes left in the 2nd, I was shocked it was that low scoring. Como wasn't as bad as I thought they would be, considering they only beat the Saints 3-1... So, maybe their defensive scheme was what held the Pioneers in check until it got to 4-0, 5-0 at the end of 2. Running time wasn't until about 13 minutes left or so.
What did you see, Go-Wild? I just thought H-M looked a little uninspired, too.

I think a first liner. Maybe Swenson or Swanson. Tall kid six feet plus. I realize I clearly don't assess talent like many HS coaches but I thought he had what it took to go to the next level.
