Get your facts right Bighead!!! Facts are Blaine had 18 skaters with 1 goalie before waive ins. 2 girls from U12's went up to U14's so down to 16 girls with only 1 goalie.
The decision was denied to coop with another Association by the Girls director and denied to allow girls from Blaine U10 to move up??? When there was 4 girls that wanted to move up but Association denied petetions. Champlin Park tried a coop with Rogers and then tried with Coon Rapids and all fell thru. So, Champlin Park voted to go B with there U12 team this year so, is that fair for A players to have to play B????
Funny comment about Chisago girl wanting to stay in their Association, they wanted to waive out to Spring Lake Park?? But SLP said NO.
As far as the FL girl, I believe she is finishing up school in FL because her school goes to 7th grade - they miss the Blaine School District boudaries by 2 blocks and will be going to Blaine after this year.
I know of 3 other Assocations that waived in U10 girls to play U10A nobody is talking about that. The Associations vote on waiving out right?? And then its up to D10 to place them right?? And it's another Association to waive them in right?? Not up to the Coaches - are you kidding me... So, why is Blaine getting all the blame because they are taking them in?? I bet if Tim Timm called your Girls Director to take these girls in, your coaching staff would say YES....But, its not up to the coaches!!!!
If your going to blame anyone blame it on the Assocation that waived them out!!

forthetroops: (so down to 16 girls with only 1 goalie.)
So theres your team. Oh wait, I see whats going on, you want to make two teams so you can eliminate weak skaters from being on your A team.

Mute point because she hasn't moved yet. The rule is clear on this.

Blaine. Champlin Park and D10 are all at fault here. This should not have happened. Both Associations presidents and the district director (Tim Timm) were notified and signed off on this. Tim Timm has fielded a few complaints on this and has chosen to do nothing! The problem is this: On the Champlin side, the issues were presented to the traveling committee, the board, and the district president by the very people that wanted to waive their kids. I said it before and I'll say it again they were all dooped! Champlin should have a U12A team period. I can’t speak about the internal operations at Blaine. The U12A manager for Blaine is the Girls committee director from Champlin and one of your assistant coaches is a board member from Champlin and happens to be the board liaison to the girls committee in Champlin. Isn’t that a little strange? Again, they wanted to waive their kids to a better program because Champlin would have a few weaker skaters on the bottom of their U12A team and that wasn't acceptable to them. They did try other options with Rogers and Coon Rapids, but again, when those failed they decided to go B so they could have the argument that they had A players and needed to play with other A kids. They did not involve the whole girls committee only the ones they knew would support their plan or didn’t know better. They did not involve the CPGHS coaches who have always been invited in on these types of topics to give their opinions and are very involved with the entire girls program in CP. Nothing went the way it normally does...why? Don’t get me wrong these are dedicated good people who do a lot for the CP program, but on this one, they did what they thought was best for individuals and not the program. This whole thing stinks and the management from Blaine, Champlin Park, and District 10 all got this one wrong. It’s disappointing the system failed.
I think it’s an unfortunate situation and in my opinion hurts both programs a little. It’s not the end of the world and in the long run all the girls are still playing hockey and hopefully having fun which is the most important thing.

Well, golly gee...golly gee liveyourbest, beautiful story! Now if you don't mind let me turn the light on in your world. First of all, our credibility is not lost because we have a complaint. Second, Congradulations....you just spent 3 paragraphs describing half of the girls hockey programs in the state. WE ALL HAVE NUMBER PROBLEMS!!....we all have issues. Your numbers at 16 skaters and 2 goalies were just fine. Our association did it two years in a row. What you meant to say was 16 and 2 were not good for winning. Others just do it within.
News flash...you said.."Forest lake girl is moving to Blaine and don't think anyone new her". First, everyone knows her(everyone that's not clueless). Second, she has actually played for Dennis just recently at Elites. And last, the Van Tassels aren't moving. I know what they do for a living and I am not even sure there house could fit in Blaine!
Your 14U numbers are just like everyone else's because a lot always move up to Jv in chick hockey. By the way....your good players stayed at 14U.
This sight should not be a place to get personal or add insults, but please, just educate yourself a wee bit next time.

forthetroops guy. You are the worst of all. The most imbarressing and insulting thing in this whole blog was said by you. You said, "get your facts straight we had 16 skaters and 1 goalie" Are you flipping kidding me? You should be embarressed. That is pretty much a normal team. 15 skaters and 2 goalies is normal(That's 3 set of lines if you wear powdr blue). My daughters team had that last year and we had a wonderful experiance.
No wait......maybe I should rethink this????? Having 1 extra player is quite the quandry? Guess it depends on what side of the fence you are on.
Blaine = Hockey for kids in our community
Baine = Must win!

Even cuter yet! The "waive ins" parents are even taking spots. Ones a coach and the others the manager.
Let's see how fast someone can get to me! Let me guess no other Blaine parents(ones that actually live in Blaine) wanted to be involved.
Priceless, I am going just keep writing.....It's like therapy, I am actually starting to find some humor in this.

forthetroops, Comment on Chisago skater. WRONG WRONG WRONG!!!! Her mom is head coach and is staying there. She never once asked to go to SLP! Stop the lie and get on board. The rules are clear and BLAINE is in Violation! And as dreampuck stated Retired Council Member, D10 AND TIM TIMM have been contacted and emailed to the extreme. He is choosing to wait until this blows up and not respond to anyone. dreampuck says it best, D10 Blaine CP and FL associations all got it wrong!!!!
HEY PEOPLE LETS NOT USE NAMES ON THIS SITE. THERE IS NO NEED TO OUT THE KIDS INVOLVED. WE ALL KNOW WHO THEY ARE!!!!

Anybody else sense the guilt????? WOW!!!!
To forthetroops...hi mom...calm down...did the 10s you are referring to leave their own A team to play with a coach from another association that describes it as a winner?
Chisago to SLP....seriously! LOL
Moving to Blaine......when? What page in D10 handbook is WE MIGHT MOVE TO an association, so we want to play for that association! I can't find it! Help me out...
My facts are solid......and I do believe that 16 players would be considered a team in most associations. Wouldn't even be discussed!
Every team that plays Blaine should bring in 3 non-rostered players that are of AAA caliber and throw a jersey on them that says "recruit"!
Good luck to D10 teams!

The 2 districts involved can fix this, also MN Hockey should step in. why can't people just play by the rules ?? its really not that difficult. If you do not like where your school is MOVE !!!! spark the economy, put house up for sale, buy home where Grass is Greener. then your name will not be MUD!! simple..
Solutions are Simple
All people involved need to be the voice here. It is time to rally. Contact Tim Timm again and again if you have to. He needs to act to ensure the integrity of D10. If those involved don't say something and force some sort of action it cannot and will not end good. Just imagine your team misses out on a bid in regions or districts or heck even state because of this blatant infraction of the rules.

There are maybe 5 associations in the state that don't co-op who find it not that difficult. For the rest of us, parents, coaches, and associations fielding teams that are competitive at thier level from top to bottom in girls hockey is damm near imposible. Girls skate up or waiver out at such a high rate that maybe its time to rethink the rules a bit.Daulton911 wrote: why can't people just play by the rules ?? its really not that difficult.
You want Blaine to have a A team with 16 skaters and a goalie, you don't care if thats not the best thing for skaters 8 through 16. If MAHA is going to step in here or anywhere else it should really look at the whole enchilada. These situations happen because there are people who are trying to find the best fit for thier daughters and it doesn't always work within the current system. All the people here who are so wrapped up in what this team is doing seem more motivated by thier own daughter's teams win/loss record than anything about what is right for the kids or girls hockey.

Is the Forest Lake player opened enrolled at Blaine? If she is that is where she can play according to the rules. If not then it is up to the Forest Lake association to file a grievance or for the proof of where she actually goes to school is provided,if intending to move and proof is offered that a house has been purchased also within the rules and has this has been allowed for other players in the past.
Did the 2 players from Champlin follow the policies and procedures of the Champlin Park association and did the President sign the waiver? If they did and Blaine also followed their procedures and the Blaine President signed the waivers again they have followed their association rules.
If you want Mn Hockey to get involved follow Article 6 in the Mn Hockey By-laws and follow it to the letter, that is the only way to do it.
Last year Champlin's 12A team did very good and 4 players return, the 12B and 10A struggled ,the association it is my belief took a lot of factors into their decision and by the rules informed the District of their change in teams from last year at the 12 U level. That the association waived 2 of their better players to get the opportunity to play at the A level is the responsibility of the Champlin board.
To follow the rules and procedures you have to file a grievance through your association first and if denied or not heard then Article 6 is used, but you have to be a member of the association to file the grievance.
Nobody complains when the Jr Gold teams coop and do this or when smaller associations combine to provide more opportunities for their skaters.
If you want to send e-mails to Tim T. I hope your tone is calmer then some have posted here and state facts only. Sometimes the tone has a lot to do with getting a response.
One last item, have any of you attended any of your associations meetings or special meetings about this to discuss with your board? If not there was your chance to voice your opinion.

Greybeard...loved your comment of tone you are completly correct. When do we get to change our tone when we read your story about laying a blanket over the pile of dog poop and asking people to walk around it or send the dog to training school. I myself would prefer the dog doesn't crap on the floor in the first place. Yes!! the parents are worried about winning!!! Shame on them for wanted there daughters to excel and expecting fair play and good sportsmanship at age 12. Yes, there are a few bad apples out there, but do you really think most parents can't accept losing in the arena of fair play? Why must everyone insist on going to D10? Do you really feel like people havn't? Pretty tough for Tim Timm to back track when he was the one dooped by CP and Blaine in the firstr place. If this is a child, we simply sit them and explain right from wrong. And last, how nieve can you be to compare small associations combining to compete at a association the size of Blaine in the first place? FINALLY....ARE YOU APPLAUDING BLAINE FOR ACTING LIKE THE GOVERNMENT AND DANCING THROUGH LOOPHOLES AND PROBABLY DOING NOTHING "OFFICIALLY" WRONG? THE DIFFERENCE IS, THE PEAPLE ON BLAINES SIDE ARE TALKING ABOUT SMOKE, MIRRORS AND LOOPHOLES...THE REST ARE TALKING ABOUT MORALITY!
I don't know fact from fiction in this situation but it never ceases to amaze me how condescending the board members and representative of MN hockey are when they chime in on these posts.greybeard58 wrote: If you want Mn Hockey to get involved follow Article 6 in the Mn Hockey By-laws and follow it to the letter, that is the only way to do it.

I'll get right on that article 6 research........ How about listening to the people effected by this and using some common sense.

Greybeard58 is not a board member or rep of MH, but you will see him at the hockey meetings. Only 'acknowledged' MH board member around these parts is Mark from D16.Pens4 wrote:I don't know fact from fiction in this situation but it never ceases to amaze me how condescending the board members and representative of MN hockey are when they chime in on these posts.greybeard58 wrote: If you want Mn Hockey to get involved follow Article 6 in the Mn Hockey By-laws and follow it to the letter, that is the only way to do it.

Ok...we have all made our point and it is time to do what's best and move forward. First, we need to get an email to the Blaine 12UB parents and let them know they need to carpool on the way to Coon Rapids for practice. Traffic and the economy are bad enough, we don't need them clogging up the roads lugging their kids across town to practice. Second, why has nobody notified the 10UB parents of thier certain future. I am sure thier is 6-8 players on the A team that would like to know how many kids to recruit. ALL B PLAYERS MUST STAY AT THIER LEVEL! Once I stopped worrying about Blaine and looking at my own situation I thought hey....what does this mean for me? I have already notified Edina that we are thinking of moving to Edina in the next couple years. Yes!!! Edina here we come. Troubles getting waived out of my association? Not here my friend! I have already started campagning for my local board position(girls coordinator).... they won't know what him them. LETS MOVE ON!

How does any of this relate to outstate districts 15, 16, 11, and 12. It doesn't, we are proud of who we play for and in the long run we improve our own skaters through taking a beating at the A level. Only have three A skaters on our team? Thats ok, we'll skate at the A level and push the B players to catch up, and that is exactly what happens. A 2 1/2 hour commute to go play for a winning team doesn't make much sense up here, but then again, we may be doing it all wrong. See you at the state tourney in 2015. Where will Blaine be???? Everyone needs to quit whining about it and just prove they are making the wrong decisions to build their high school team, after all, isn't that what its about, the future. They may win this year but in the future they will pay.
BLAINE's Free Agency Program.
This is the last thing I will say on the matter. Contacts have been made and people are definitely filing a protest. But take a look at Blaine's mission statement. I copied it right from there web site.
MISSION STATEMENT
Blaine Youth Hockey Association (BYHA) is a structured organization affiliated with USA Hockey and Minnesota Hockey (MH). It is instituted to provide fun and development at various levels of hockey within a structured environment for the youth of the community. We will strive to keep costs at a reasonable level while providing each player with an opportunity to become the best player and person they can aspire to be. To accomplish this, BYHA provides an organization where youths ages 5-18 currently residing within the Blaine High School boundaries can play organized hockey. BYHA provides an Initiation Program (Mites) that provides the younger players a place to have fun and learn the game of hockey. BYHA also provides additional levels as numbers dictate. The Traveling Program provides for fun and development, but is also "competitive" and requires more commitment and expense.
They said it themselves. YOUTH OF THE COMMUNITY! WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF BLAINE HIGH SCHOOL!!
I know other teams that are gonna struggle this year but didn't break the rules. They had 16 and should have went A with the original numbers. Princeton is doing it and they lost 2 of there best skaters and stayed at A. BOTTOM LINE!!! Osbeck recruited and screwed his own association members for a chance at winning. AND THATS THE WAY THE COOKIE CRUMBLES!!!!

Re: BLAINE's Free Agency Program.
if what is claimed is true and the current rules were broken, it would be nice for one time someone step up and make sure the right thing is done about it. Mr Timm you have read this let us know please.
Folks,
Girls hockey can be a tough animal. If Blaine fields a team with the 16 players they have, and one of them is a new player (i dont know this only making an example), who doesn't belong at the A level, she probably doesn't play. The truth is that we need to continue to get more girls to play. We are still a long way from reaching the point that we can do without the weaker player. If moving some players in allows them to have a B team, so be it. Take your lumps for the good of the game and the future opportunities of other girls to play the game. Check your ego at the door.

Think about it
SECoach, who is this benefitting? What good does it do to not help your association. This is not what is good for the game, this is what is good for the team. So some girls get to play A, they could have in there own association. The girl that does not belong, how does she get better. You're a fool if you think this is gonna bring in new girls to the program. All this says is that the only thing they are interested in is winning and no one will develop. It says if you are not good enough don't look to your own association for development. Fools!!!!
"Forest Lake girl - is in process of moving to blaine. is what i heard from the director - i don't think anyone knew her. "
1. It's where she goes to school not where she lives so the the above is mute. What does "where she live (moving to)" have anything to do with this now under the new rules?
2. Blaine can take anyone they want as long as someone released them. Blaine is trying to find bodies.
