AY,

I think George is goofey enough to fire Torre.

If he did , Joe would be out of work for about 20 minutes.

If the Yanks comeback, guess who will take credit for motivating them?

No chopper off the plate, no broken bat fly ball, no rollover ground ball to the right side, no looking at a third strike on the corner, rather, Sizemore puts a charge into one for the very early 1-0 lead.

This is why CLE is still playing and dictating the flow of the series.

Wang and Mussina have needed 53 pitches to record six outs. Not good for the Yanks.

CLE VS BOS in the AL.

Should be a good series. We should see some real good hitting. Enough to keep IS glued to the tube. It will be fun to see.

Can the Central Division team get to the WS again? I like the way both of these teams play ball.

I am picking BOS in 6. They really handled a very good LAA team easily.

Manny, get a hair cut.

If you told me on opening day of the 2005 season that there will be three different AL Central teams in the World Series over the next three years, I would have been confident to the point of arrogant that the Twins would have been one of them.

Or maybe even all of them.

The teams in the Central have really done a nice job.

Sure, the Twins and White Sox were down this year but 2 years ago the White Sox won it and last year the Twins won 95 ball games and DET made it to the Fall Classic.

This year it was CLE's turn. Remember boys, CLE was way out of it a year ago.

The Twins need some fine tuning and who knows what the Sox will do but what a good division. The best in baseball the last 3 years. In '05 it was just the Twins and the Sox and DET and CLE were building.

Best time of the year. The MLB Playoff are heating up; Vikings and Gophers football.......ah, never mind.

Indians beat Yanks 3 games to 1

NLCS:

Rockies vs. D-Backs

I will take the Rockies in 5. They are as hot as I have ever seen a baseball team.

Indians vs. Red Sox

Against my will I have to chose the Red Sox. Big Papi and Manny are getting hot...Beckett and Schilling are two of the best post season pitchers of all time.

Since 1991 we can hang our hat on playoff appearances in 2002, '03, '04, and '06.

I am of the belief that the '04 team had the best chance to make it to the WS.

ALDS Game #1: TWINS 2, YANKEES 0
Santana goes 7 IN, giving up 0 runs on 9 hits, Rincon and Nathan work a clean 8th and 9th. The Twins D turns 5 double plays. Jones HR.

ALDS Game #2: YANKEES 7, TWINS 6
Twins rally from 2 down to tie the game in the 8th. Also during the 8th, Ground Rule double prevents the go ahead run from scoring. Hunter hits what could have been his biggest HR as a Twin in the top of the 12th. Nathan tires in his third inning of work. ARod is the hero going 4x6 with 3 RBI's. Radke and Gardy are miffed by the Irish Tenor's extended version of God Bless America during the 7th inning stretch.

That's your series, the Twins had them on the ropes and the Yanks wiggled loose.

That was tough loss but game 4 of the same series was really a bitter pill.

We had them dowm 5-1 in the 8th inning when Ricon comes in. He gives up 4 , 3 on a HR by Rueben Sierra.

ARod scores on a Lohse Wild pitch in the 11th.....series over.

But I think there best chance was in '02 when they actually made the ALCS.

After the Sierra HR, the Twins still had the 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th, innings to finish off the game. They couldn't do it, you know the Yankee bullpen threw at least 5 mistakes in there and nobody could deliver the death blow.

Yup, that made it even tougher.

Sure, Rincon peed all over himselsf but the hitters cant pick him up with one run in the bottom of the 8th, 9th or 10th.

I watched the game back and forth with the TG/ Mahtomedi football game.

Nice jod by the COL lefty and timely hitting by the Rockies.

Stepped outside about 8:30 PM to get the trash down to the curb.
If the Twins are in tha ACLS 3 years from now, dress warm.

I have coached a lot of baseball and I always spend a lot time with my guys on hitting because of the old saying: "If you dont hit , you dont play"

In these playoffs , if you dont hit, you lose.

Game after game is decided by who hits in the clutch.

There have been very few dominant pitching performances but a lot of good defensive plays.

Very entertaining.

Go Indians, win it all.

There's nothing I'd rather see next season than a Central Division rival coping with the dry mouth, headache, and foggy vision associated with World Championship Hangover.

These things can turn on a dime but there is no question about who is hot and who is not.

CLE's bats are smokin and Boston's pitchers are a little shell shocked.

The AL Central is impressive knocking off the 2 big buck teams from the East, if the current trend continues.

Manny showed a little lack of class last night. He stands and admires a solo HR when his team is down by 5. Strange.

I saw a still frame of his game ending blast against the Angels last week and Manny was standing on the plate with his hands extended. While he's doing his thing all the fans on the third base side of the stadium were looking out to left and celebrating the bomb. That tells me the ball was already over the fence and Manny hadn't made and progress towards first.

This isn't new for him either, does he ever get thrown at? I can't think of any examples of other teams taking exception to his antics.

I dont know if other teams throw at him but his own team should.

He is in exhultation becasue his team now trails by only 5 instead of 6 in game 4 of the ALCS.

To me that says: "I am just in it for myself"

Reminded me of Barry after hitting 756. That one made sense, this one didn't.

Just plain stupid.

Did you know?

The Chic singing the National Anthem and God Bless America during the stretch tonight is Josh Beckett's X-girlfriend. Is this a little gamesmanship by the Indians or is this just a coincidence?

I'll give the Indians credit for this one, I think the Indians have a number of Genius' making decisions behind the scenes in their organization right now.
