Sign Jeromy Burnitz. He can play left. And he can hit. Really far.

Btw, nice game Twins. Hit when Johan was pitching, that's something we haven't seen much of this year.

Key Stats from last nights big win.

Instant offense: 3
RAF: O
Pitching Staff zeros: 8

And the dreaded get-away-day matinee awaits. Here's how the last two have gone.

Santana and Morneau were awesome sign Hunter but thats been the story all year.

The "stars" of the team have been good. They havent had any help though. The "support staff" hasnt done much.

We need Punto, Bartlett, Kubel etc to contribute more sign Hunter in order to win consisiently because Morneau isnt going to hit 2 HRS every night.

15 million a year for 4 years for Hunter is fine sign Hunter.

I think Carl Pohlad needs to finally spend some money, and resign Torii Hunter! The guy is a billonaire, yet he always lets the teams big stars get away! 15 million over five years isn't bad for a guy who is: A gold glove center fielder, hit's 30+ homeruns and 100+RBI's, and and is the face of the Franchise!!

15 M is too much!

Post by Knowlzee »

Torii Hunter is awesome, certainly the heart and soul of the current Twins team,......but he should not be paid 15 M to play in Minnesota (or you have a Kevin Garnett/Timberwolves situation).

Not sure what the current payroll is,...but in 2006 it was a little over 63 M. NOBODY is major league baseball should earn anywhere near 1/4 of the total payroll. There are too many more contributors on a baseball team.

If he really wants to be a Twin,...we certainly want him. If he REALLY wants to be Twin, he will play for less than market value (i.e Kirby Puckett and Kent Hrbek). The Twins cannot pay market value for anyone (without severely disrupting team payroll). The Timberwolves have already performed that experiment. Do we want those results?

I'll half-heartedly agree with you here. The Twins are going to have to shell out some loot for players because the stadium is being built or they'd get run out of town, so they absolutely could pay up $15m for Hunter.... if they didn't have to lock up Morneau and Santana. The Brinks truck will be backed up for those two, and Torii will end up waving at it from the curb.

They'll definitely lock up the younger guys.

Morneau launches #14, wow is he on a binge.

Been a long time since the Twins have had an offensive difference making talent fuel the engines.

Now that is consistant, persistant pressure on an opposing pitcher.

Twins win, 5-3! Two in a row, by the numbers it looked like Bonser had a nice start though he only went 5 innings.

Yeah and 101 pitches. A lot of foul balls or deep counts?
