They are my second team not the backup. My kids attend Richfield.

I do not think Hill had the advantage, they had more shots. They are more skilled than Richfield, but someone posted earlier they scrapped. Richfield led both times till the OT. I thought that Richfields first line of Hill, Gunner and Scanlon played great along with Seaman and Guggs....

I enjoyed the game...

Oh I actually have four team, AHA boys and girls and Richfield boys and girls. My daughter is the Richfield girls manager....

it wont even be close. gug will have to make at least 45 saves for richfield to win. i bet its 4-1 but the score will make the game look a lot closer than it really is.

Gugenburger or whatever his name did play amazing I totally agree. How many great chances did the pioneers have it was unreal! Larson had to have had 10 shots by himself. But two goals were disallowed because of men in the crease. Furne's was in the first and then Larson's was late in the third.
I just want to say that shots and scoring chances are two different things and as for me id say they both had a pretty equal amount of scoring chances.
In other words, Gugenberger wasn't even needed in the nets, because scoring chances were equal.

Are you serious? Scoring chances were not even close! Richfield only had 14 shots or whatever and hill had plenty more scoring chances than 14

No there were not that many people at the game. I'd say the stands were about 1/3 full, if that.

Too bad. It was a great high school game. Guggenberger was obviously the difference, but you've got to give the Richfield boys some credit too. They scrapped hard against a superior team.

Hill should have had more goals, but Guggenberger was great. His positioning, body control and lateral movement were outstanding. Hill also shot a lot of pucks into his chest, but that's also partly because his positioning is so good.

With Guggenberger in goal, the Richfield boys had confidence and they almost pulled off an upset. There is no doubt that Hill is deeper and better. But the Spartans gave it everything they had. They are quick and they were able to beat the Hill forecheck and get the puck up the ice, but Hill plays very good team defense and stopped most of Richfield's rushes.

In overtime, Richfield almost scored on a scramble in front, then Hill wins it with a screen shot from the blue line. Sova scored. Guggenberger did not see the shot. I was behind the goal and you could not see it coming. Too bad for Richfield, but no reason to hang their heads. They put on a great show, especially Guggenberger.

Nice game on a great hockey day in Richfield, Minnesota.

I will have to agree with the assessment also. That says about all. I really though that Richfield was going to get it in the OT, I was on that end of the arena and it looked like they were real close.

Lack of attendance is because of some miscommunication on the game. I was told that at school there was an announcment that the time was at 3:00 and the paper, Red Star, showed that the game was at Aldrich. Plus Richfield had their Fire-and-Ice dance Saturday night. Everyone needed to get ready I am sure.....
