Hill Murray Pioneers @ Richfield Spartans 2-3-07

Post by HShockeywatcher »

The (15-2-1) Pioneers travel to Richfield to battle the Spartans (11-7) on Saturday. The Pioneers beat the Spartans at home 11-2, but that was without Guggs, as all Richfield's losses this season were. Does Guggs have what it takes to stop the Pioneers?

This is a whole new Richfield team whose on an 8 game win streak. Richfield is really going to surprise Hill, and it will be a fairly close game.

4-2 Hill

Just my opinion.
Third times a charm.

I've only seen Hill play once, and haven't seen Richfield play. The Pioneers are good. We know the Spartans can score on Hill (although Phillippi wasn't in net). Just think of what Richfield could do if they had a good first and second periods. I guess we'll see.

Wel I guess I am going to be in a minority here and say Richfield will pull out the upset....Hill is good, but Richfield has been playing real well as of late and they are playing better with Guggs in net. IF, the big if here, Richfield can keep HM off the board and get an early lead. I feel they can hold on. Anyway this should be a pretty fun game. Low score 2 - 1.

Neither one of these two teams are the top ranked team...anywhere (aside from in conference play, but the season's not over)

Not really. You seem to not know much. I voted for Hill to win. Just like I voted for Hill to win in the poll about the Hill/St Thomas game. As much as I want one team or the other to win, doesn't mean I am ignorant to who probably will win. And I'm not.

Hill running up the score on SSP?

Hill did the same thing against Richfield earlier this year!
Richfield is thin at defense anyway and they had one of their best D out for that game. Guggs was not in nets either.
But Hill kept running their top line out every other shift until the very end of a 11-2 game! Richfield was giving the 3rd & 4th lines alot of playing time in the third period also.
Maybe they should have scheduled Mpls. East & West and threw in North Branch if they wanted to pad Larson's stats so bad!
I only hope Gugg's bits them in the @ss this Saturday!
Maybe that 6 ft. 7 in. 270lbs. MONSTER on Richfield can catch Larson with his head down!

i know this is going to be a great game....richfield went into the last game knowing they were ganna lose but with guggenburger they have confidence...hill coming off an 11-2 victory will be playing pond hockey out there...the spartans could come out and suprise the ol' pioneers at this one

You really think that would shut up AP? AP was saying they'd beat Holy Angels the first time, then when they lost he made excuses. Then he said they'd win the second time. Then his response was that they'll take em' at State. He's always got something for everything.

You voted that H-M would win yet you still predicted that STA would win the game? :-k

Richfield is a tough place to come into and win right now; Tartan found that out. The Spartans are on an eight game win streak and you can bet they'll be ready to play this one.
