I just saw that this would be the 100th post on this thread and being that i started i thought i should hit up 100 also. Logical reason for Rave35 to rank Roseville higher than tartan and WBL orange: We didnt have a single natural defenseman this weekend at our tourney, and managed to shut out WBLO, and hold scoring jugernaut Tartan to 2 goals..... sorry for the out burst earlier, but i spit up my mr pibb on the computer screen when i saw that!

Don't worry, CG from RV, if RAVE35 doesn't put you in a top 10. you know thats fun. Playing Hockey RAVESUCKS, are you from armstrong? if so, i would just like to say that you are a wicked awesome hockey player. maybe the RAVE boys were just having a little fun and you were a little bitter because you got beat 7-0 and your captain looks like a fat turtle. just my opinion

I agree that maybe i am being a bit of a homer... However, in my defense I had not heard about the tournament in carleton. I also would say that we could beat all three... If any of you have watched us play lately you know what i mean. We have dominated every game since ER and TARTAN, that includes wayzata even though they got a gimme goal. We have totally dominated as of late and think that it will come down to the last couple of games of the season. WHO KNOWS? As far as giving us some credit i am glad we got some, we have earned it, we hope to continue to earn it... On another note, how tasteless is it to make a name about a team sucking? especially when they destroyed you twice... I hope that none of my teammates have that little taste. From my understanding RAVECOWBOY has atleast apoligized. Rave35

1. EP Red: Top team, havent played yet but get to on Friday. cant wait. 2. Tartan: I thougth that they were better than ELks but elks goalie had an off night or something.. 3. ELKS: Great team of shots and puck handling. creative. 4. WBL Orange: I still feel they are above the rest. They can hit and play good D. 5. SSP: Great goaltending and team D. I think best team of the D8's. 6. EP Black: great puck movement, still the best. Need a boost of confidence before playoffs. 7. Roch Red: I feel above hastings by a little. Good solid goalie who can hold them in it. 8. Hastings: Great speed. decent goalie but not better than teh other two D8's. 9/10/11: Roseville, B'ville, Rave: I still believe that these three teams are equal. I dont see any real difference accept the Early games given up by RAVE and how they made it up, and still have to make it up. I also forgot to add Centennial but they are somewhere between 8-12. Considerations: EDINA: can they make a last run to bump them in. B Park: Need a stretch run.

Jr Gold 'B' Top 10 1. Elk River  - Best team that we have faced, even though they are chippy. Goaltending needs to improve 2. Eden Prairie - Red - Very strong, I'll have more after we play them again this weekend 3. Eden Prairie - Black - Good team, but I think they play more to the level of their comp 4. Tartan - The Big 'O' gets it done 5. Roseville - Better and Better every week, Rises to the challange, strong tender 6. S St Paul - some big wins in the past couple of weeks has vaulted them 7. White Bear - Orange - after starting the first have of the season at the top, now they have something to prove 8. Rochester - Red - Beating Hastings twice says something 9. Hastings - Still the top dog in D8 dispite record. Impressive wins over very good teams 10. Edina - Who hotter than Edina? Haven't lost a game in a long time 11. Centennial - They can play with anybody, but have not impressed me as a power lately 12. Burnsville - Can you step it back up for playoffs? Only time will tell 13. RAVE - Playing well the last month, can you win when it counts? 14. White Bear - Black - Also playing well over the last month, but haven't impressed when I've seen them play. 15. Minnetonka - Tough losses the past week. What is it going to take to inspire you? you had a great top nine. however Edina at ten??? they may not even make it to the districts and yet number ten in the state?? I agree they are playing well but I think Centennial deserves and has earned the ten for now.

RavER3-5, I agree that Edina should not be Top 10 in the whole level standings (MHL & D<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... lasses.gif ALT="8)"> and Centennial deserves to be there more than the Cake-Eaters. BUT Edina Will make the MHL playoffs and they are playing some very good hockey currently and should be a consideration.

Here's the top ten abbv. version, cause i am gonna be in bed by 10 for the first time in 3 months! 1. EP RED - Yeah im scarred if the finish 1st and we have to play them 2 games in a row if we finish 8th 2. Hastings - So you cant beat Roch Red, well they cant beat SSP! 3. Elk River - will most likely finish out the year #1 in MHL 4. EP Black - Can't hate that loss to Edina, we were lucky for a tie when we played them 5. Roseville - 0 natural defenseman for the Carlton tourney and we shut out WBLO, and held tartan to 2 goals while scoring 4...twas grand, and tied a team while only having 7 skaters. 6. SSP - R-E-S-P-E-C-T found out what it means to me...Beat hastings! 7. Tartan - Great game vs. Roseville, just couldnt get a puck in the net at the end no matter what... 7. WBLO - Same as Tartan 9. Roch Red - Beat SSP! 10. Burnsville - I so think you guys should be higher, but cant justify it till you match up against tartan and wblo later this week RAVE - Cant wait to finally play you and see where our teams really stand. EDINA - knows what it means to be peaking at the right time WBLB - lost big to wblo last night something like 7-1 TONKA - might lose out

tartan had no natural deffense at the beging of the year. every player that plays deffense started this year or learned how to play it last year because the same thing happened last year too.

you are a tiny bit wrong on SSP, hastings, and rochester red..... rochester red beat hastings, 2 times, SSP beat rochester red 2 times, and hastings beas ssp 2 times..... you were mixed up on who beat who, just thought i would point that out to you....

nah i got it right, i just didnt communicate my intent properly. I was saying that in order to move up you have to beat that team. So for you guys i was saying BEAT HASTINGS! and to red i was saying BEAT SSP....like i said it was hasty and i was gonna try to go to sleep early, but nope...here i am.

I love how the D8 guys always feel slighted about the rankings that a bunch of current and former coaches put up here for everyone's enjoyment. Hastings, Roch Red & SSP (in that order) are the best over there in MHL-JV, and ya'll will find out what real playoff hockey is when and if you make it to the region tourney verses the powerhouses of the MHL. Tell me again why these teams are not all in the MHL??

Why not just combine everybody. . . Do a north division and a south Division. Play maybe 5 teams from the other division, and call her good. Might mean one weekend game down south for a ER or a game up north for Albert Lea, but if scheduled right you could get two games and make a weekend of it.

I believe that D8 does not want to be a part of the MHL or the MHL would rather not govern D8. One of the 2, I guess. CG from RV, I think you are accurate in the Divisions, etc. You could even go a step further and Regional-ize the Divisions. Have the Mpls side be one, St Paul be two and have a South of the River (including Roch) for three??? Something could be done, perhaps we should head a committee to present our ideas to congress ... I mean the MHL board ... Whoa! Sorry I was dreaming there for a moment - I forgot we live under the Russia-Rule in the MHL: "Do what we (the board) say". Not sure who or why the Rave haters are out there, but we are just proud of what we have been able to accomplish this year. The Rave team will be in their first playoff game ever this year, and if some people boast a little to much, I'm sorry about that. The last thing I would like to see is something for the chalk board before a game. Anyway, for what is worth, I'll add my top 14 for sh_ts and giggles. 1. Elks - too fast and creative 2. EP- Black It will come down to the last game on the 19th - I'll be there to watch. The coach is a class act though! 3. EP-Red-It will come down to the last game on the 19th 4. WBL-Orange-The 4th and 5th depends on Sun game. I think B'sville long stretch might be to much. Great win against Tartan-winning goal with less than min left. 5. Burnsville - what a long stretch b4 playoffs. Great win against Tartan Sat. Believe it or not, I'm rooting for you, as i have coached alot of the players on your team! 6. Tartan - I really like this team! The team speed is good, but the team work ethic is awesome. Thinking they could get on roll for the playoffs. 7. SSP- This team is very impressive when they stay out of the box. If they stay out of the box, this team can play in the 3-4 spot. Strong, above avg speed, and good goaltending. 8. Hastings- I have coached a few of the kids on this team - how could they not be good (JK). Again, very impressive wins...but can they stay out of the box? 9. Cent - Have not seen this team play yet, but wins are very impressive. 10-13. WOW what a battle for these positions! First of all, 3 have a real legitimate shot at finishing in the 8 spot in MHL playoffs slot. Difference - one and done or double elimination (alot). No certain order here: Edina, Roseville, Rave. Rochester-Red I believe is in the same class as the 3 other teams. R-red Good luck in D-8 playoffs..I dont know how your playoffs work, but rooting for you, as I feel your team is a class act! 14. MTK - I'm not sure what happened the night we played. Maybe we dont match up well, but, glad we wont match up right away. Yes i dont have a life-LOL's. Just thought I would add my 2 cents for the heck of it.

How come MHL thinks their better then D8, you have EP ranked one and 2 although SSP did beat them in a tournament game in supirior. SSP also beat Burnsvill,and lost to tartan in their first scrimmage of the year souly because it was a scrimmage and SSP went into it as a practice. Hastings could crush most of these teams. so why dont you MHL people take your arrogant banter some where else. Just because we are not in the same league as you guys doesnt mean your better then us. Plus We dont want to be part of the big awsome MHL, considering we arnt good enough for it anyways. Right?

That's why they have a Regional playoff, genius. We'll find out in the end if a D8 team can outlast an MHL team. Oh, and this forum board is exactly where we people are supposed to go with their arrogant banter, so don't ask or expect anyone to take it anywhere else. And SSP didn't beat EP in Superior (use the free spell check), they tied EP and won in a shootout, which only proves they are better at shootouts, which, I am quite sure, there are no more of this season. It's all hockey from here on out. I don't believe anyone ever said all MHL teams are better than all D8 teams, but rather that the league is a better league and that is simply because of overall competitiveness, which is not really the fault of the teams in D8, but a fact of geography. There are three top teams in D8, but there are 8-9 top teams in the MHL. They playoffs will be competitive and exciting and there should be a really good matchup on March 7 . . . we just have to wait to find out who it will be.

hey bville, i would be more careful with the health of your players. We had some of the Greenies take some runs at our players after we got a good hit on them. Tell your boys to keep caution and to not get hurt.
