wbmd, I'm fully aware. You really think the Ponies can handle the Pioneers? I'd love to see Hill lose and have the Ponies make it but I doubt that'll be happening. Stillwater handled benilde 6-2 who beat Hill so its possible What happened two years ago in the section final with Woodbury and Cretin?...

No doubt the section final. Every players dream is to play in the state tournament. What do you have to do to get in the state tournament? Win your section. There is nothing more pressure filled. Anything can happen! How many times have we seen two teams who meet twice in the regular season meet aga...

Would agree with all the Woodbury players mentioned.. I was disappointed that Goff didn't make all tournament team.. He led the tournament in scoring, and they won consolation... Hmmm... And for that matter what about Wigen. He made 112 saves on 122 shots which was the most in the tourney. Phillipi...

Wow you guys are pathetic. Wigen posts some of the best numbers up some of the best numbers in the state and youre telling me that Collette and Civello should make it over Wigen. Get fricking real that is a joke. The goalies should be Wigen and Civello no question. Owen Collette hahaha! My word that...

Here's what I rate em: 1) Lee 2) Yumu 2) Phillippi 4) Harper 5) Cashetta 6) BSM goalie 7) Cloquet goalie 8) Wigen Wigen to me is overrated... He hasn't impressed me when I've seen him play, he looks slow and doesn't really come out of the net. I think he might get blasted open in the tourney. That ...

First I want to congratulate both teams. They both had phenominal seasons! First point is goaltending. Wigen was obviously the better goalie tonight. We knew this was going to be a big key heading into the game. Wigen held his team in it in the first making a few tough saves. Morgan on the other han...

STEV16 They didn't start the back up last time around. Wigen got pulled after giving up 3 goals in the 1st. It changed the momentum in the game no question. The Royals finally stepped it up and began clearing the front of the net. That first period was dominated by Rosemount who had a 5-3 PP that t...

Wow what a game! Eastview is a quality team no question but they just didn't score any hard working goals. They were all fluky. They worked hard for them though no question and that is how you win playoff games by just finding ways to get goals. Woodbury really turned it on in the 2nd and even thoug...

Congrats to both teams on their terrific seasons. I'm pretty sure both teams set records in wins for their schools so that is awesome. Obviously things are going on the right track for both schools. Woodbury is 19-6-0 currently. They need to win the section to tie the school record of 22 victories ...

Yeah it will be interesting to hear who it is tomorrow. Both teams deserve it no question. Woodbury is obviously the hotter team but Rosemount has a tougher conference I believe. Yes, Rosemount did beat Woodbury earlier this season but it was only the third game of the season and really shouldn't ha...

Well I tip my hats to Roseville no doubt. They gave Wigen tons of shots in the 1st and Wigen stopped a handful but his defense was pretty awful. Roseville just kept intercepting passes in the zone and they got two goals. Woodbury came out lucky that they weren't down by more with the opportunities R...

Both of these goalies have shown their ability to keep their teams in the game. For a goalie, it can be any given day and how the defense is clicking. But Podobinski is anything but inconsistent if you look at the stats. His worst game was 4 goals the first game of the season, (first ever varsity?)...

It's obvious both of these guys can take over a game. You can't compare the two. You could have them play a one on one game and that still wouldn't decide it because it's a team game. It's about using your teammates and being an unselfish player but taking advantage of the skills you have at the rig...

I was at the Stillwater and Woodbury game on Thursday and Wigen the Woodbury goalie may have had one. It was the fluke goal that happened in the first. What happened was Wigen set up the puck for his D man while the rest of the Woodbury players were going off on a change. The defenseman for the Roya...

Let me start out by saying this was a hell of a hockey game. When I got there I was lucky that I got a ticket because it was standing room only and they were only going to sell about 50 more tickets. Eastview totally dominated this game. Eastview had at the very least seven, two ones. Eastview if yo...

Casey Dittel scored the first goal of the game. How they got Andrew Pronsati I have no idea except Dittel's number is 37 and Pronsati's is 35 so that may have been the mixup. Also Pronsati wasn't in goal. Wigen was and may I add he played quite well. Especially in OT for the first four minutes when ...

Yes he is a pretty good goalie. It has to suck for some of these guys when you are a good goalie but your team is crap. You just automatically know your goal of going to the tourney isn't going to happen unless you play unbelieveable. Now on the other side having a bad team in front of you can make ...

Should be: Final SAVES WERE: SSP - 47 WOODBURY - 37 That is untrue. I am friends with the goalie coach for Woodbury and he actually counted 45 shots. I know that is biased but it is true. The second period South Saint Paul just continued to put shots on goal. They had about 20 shots that period. In...

Wigen got a shutout the first game against Farmington 2-0 win, Blake 1-0 win and a shutout against North St. Paul 10-0 win. Both of the first two games were very close games even though Farmington isn't that good. Blake is a pretty good class A team though. By the way wow he let in three to Park. On...
