Re: state

The #1 and #2 seeds from D2 go a combined 1-5 vs D10 and D11 in the East regional. The #3 seed from D2 goes down to the south and wins their subregion to go to state. Fishy business. So what is the scouting report on Pequot Lakes? Pequot Lakes beat Roseau 3-2 in overtime. Pequot has one very good p...

Rams don't because they have always felt they could play for the true state championship, not "A", or Tier II, or "B"...

My guess:

RED Division: Grand Rapids & Pequot Lakes

Blue Division: Roseau & Moorhead

On to state: Pequot Lakes & Roseau

I agree they should stick with Bjerk and not start rotating during tournaments. Also I've heard the players want Bjerk in the net. However, I have a feeling Oliver will either rotate or just go with Lee. He seems to like to use younger players whenever he can, probably building to his son's senior y...

Mouthguards

Have you noticed most kids don't wear their mouthguards anymore? Most chew on it, some have it stuck in their mask. This started when mouthguards were required to be attached to the mask. Prior to that most wore the "pro-form" type made by a dentist that stayed on your teeth. A couple of y...

I think younger kids are moving up to squirts early and may account for the smaller size.

The "stop" patches were noticed and maybe did some good for about the first month they were used. Now everyone is used to them and they are not even noticed.

Not a very impressive win for the Rams. This is supposed to be a fast, passing, finesse, team. This game was slap the puck around and fight for rebounds. Maybe Warroad forced them to play this way and you can say Roseau showed they can play that kind of hockey, but there's no way they can get past M...

Gordon Re: Brock Nelson, I've watched Warroad youth hockey for several years and never even noticed Brock until this year. Did he improve drastically or just move to Warroad in the last couple of years??? and yes, I would rank him ahead of Kevin Erickson.

Roseau is not a top 5 team in Bantams or PeeWee's.

I believe Forward-108 is correct. Roseau's weakness is definately their defense. Their goalie looks pretty steady but defense gets beat alot and gives away way too many opportunities.

Northern B1

The small town "B" teams from the North can't compete with the B1 teams from the cities. Teams like Thief River or Roseau have maybe 28 kids try out for a team, the top 16 or so make the A team the rest are on the B team. That means the worst kids are on the "B1" team. Teams from...
