USA Hockey dictates how many spots Minnesota has at the National Camps. You can argue until you are blue in the face and that fact won't change. USA Hockey also has input into who makes it to the camps...don't let anyone tell you differently. Save your outrage for our national governing body, not th...

Get a grip, folks. The Great 8 rosters are voted on by the coaches from each section, so there should be no questioning Esse. He did not select the roster. One of three things happened: 1) The section coaches voted for 2 other goaltenders. 2) The goaltender in question turned down a spot on the team...

The first penalty in tonight's championship game? A blatant elbow to the head. Was a 5 minute major called? Of course not. The MSHSL reacted to a tragic injury with a typical kneejerk reaction, but as an entity, does not have the seeds to back their decision on the big stage. I'll be sending an emai...

The Mustangs will play out of Spooner. There is also a Duluth group that has put in an application to the SIJHL. The SIJHL is the lowest of Canada's 11 Tier II hockey leagues, but still somewhat of an improvement over the Mn league. Not sure if either of these clubs clearly understand the financial ...

Explain to me Why they are letting the College Committed kids play this year? If is only for the MN Senior Showcase why not just make a team of those College committed kids and leave the Great 8 for the uncommitted kids to get another look. They want the best tourney possible, the Great 8 Team won ...

Its not that big of a deal he's a college student who likes to drink is that unusual all of a sudden? Not a big deal at all for your typical college student. If Jake would like to turn in his scholarship and jersey it's not a big deal at all. However, violating team rules and letting your teammates...

Player in question is John O'neill. I am very suprised he did not stick in the USHL. GREAT pick up by NOIA. The coaching staff wanted O'Neill. Word on the street is that Perkins/Soskin would not allow it. These clowns don't want good players on this team - good players might show up the Chicago boys.

Heard a rumor that the Assistant Coach has now resigned and at least a couple of kids quit. What I heard - this is second hand so maybe someone can confirm - is that the Ass't Coach was not being allowed to be on the ice at practice because he hadn't sold enough corporate sponsorships. Rumors also c...

Does anyone know what Paul Willett has moved on to. I had heard his wife had a job in Albert Lea, and that they were planning to stay in the area, but have heard nothing since mid-July. 8) Puckguy, I talked to someone close to Paul recently and he said that accepted the assistant's position with th...

Re: GBG
I would say the last 2 posts are very likely scenarios . does anybody know for sure about Carew, and Filzen? Didn't GB acquire a new coach, maybe told wouldn't play, abit confusing to me and sounds like to others GB has a new coach and the main try-out camp is being held at Resch Center Friday - Su...

Why would they not want Coach Fatis? Winning Coach, good reputation among USA Hockey and Hockey Canada. A new Asst. Coach or another Asst. Coach would be right I think. Anyone who has dealt with Nick knows he is a great systems coach. From what I've seen, he reads the ice as well as any coach in Ro...

Let me ask you, Is this system about DEVELOPMENT or EXPOSURE? I belive the kids I highlighted already have committed to D1 schools and a few have turned down UNDTP. So why not open the door for a few others? Most on here say some of the weekend tournaments aren't worth the time and money as there i...

Re: Feinage and Stepan
I have read the Mckeens report out of Canada and the Hockey news report and they are both saying that the 2 kids that have made the biggest leap according to the NHL scouts in the last 3 months are Corey Feinage from Eastview and Derek Stepan of Hastings/Shattuck. It says Feinage played great in US...

Most of the kids are legit. but it's the small amount that get chosen because of the evaluators and how they can market the players, some should'nt have made the 54 list let alone this list, same as the 16's. I said before I heard team coaches and fathers were evaluators for range kids, and maybe e...
