New JR. Team in Duluth
I just read that an application was submitted for a jr team to be in the Canadian SIJHL Tier 2 league. It would be based at the Heritage Center. They hope to begin play this upcoming season...

unfortanutely this is not the case this was my first reaction naturally because it makes the most sense, but it's not so the mnjhl rejected the idea of a team ending up in the duluth area due to too much competition. it seemed to make the most sense but it's not going to happen. except for this small piece of information i know nothing else....it's a mystery

The Mustangs will play out of Spooner. There is also a Duluth group that has put in an application to the SIJHL. The SIJHL is the lowest of Canada's 11 Tier II hockey leagues, but still somewhat of an improvement over the Mn league. Not sure if either of these clubs clearly understand the financial realities of this move.

do you mean the sijhl expansion mustangs, or the continuing mnjhl franchise? surely spooner couldn't support two junior teams from competing leagues.
