I think this simple analysis shows a few things that most people who follow hockey are aware of: 1) Edina has the most consistantly good teams in D6 and remains a powerhouse in hockey (by the way, let them have their one A team and have success. Splitting their program may develop more kids but I ha...

Our association wrote it in as part of policy that any player who does not want to play above a certain level can request PRIOR to tryouts to not be placed above a certain level. For example, a player who doesn't want to commit to playing on an A team can give a letter stating that they don't want t...

The reason they are not ranked is probably due to having a slightly easier schedule their first 28 games. Of those 28 games they have played 21 games against unranked teams. For comparison, Edina has played 30 games with 19 against ranked teams or solid teams that couldn't be ranked from Shattuck, W...

Burnsville is fine. It is early in the season and the time to peak is during playoffs. I have watched several games and the coaches have mixed up the lines and tried several combinations and they have had good success at spreading the scoring. The only line that has remained consistent is the powerp...

It all depends on the goalies and the level. At the higher levels, if one goalie is clearly better he will (and should) probably play in all the tough/big games. Those games could come in bunches so you may have one goalie play several games in a row. Usually, a teams schedule will include some weak...

There is never any excuse for players to play dirty. To hear that fans from NSP were acting that way shows why their team is so dirty...the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I will agree that bad refs can lose control of a game but we should never forget; it's a kids game! There is never any exc...

With the new transfer rule players need to make decisions at Bantams rather than waiting for 10th grade. Usually when you see a mass exodus of players like this it has something to do with the coaching above at the high school level. Are parents and players not happy with the high school coach for s...

Given the amount of scouts at some of these Elite games and the success he is having, I would guess that he is getting offers from several schools. He has definitely become a dominant player and should get a full ride from one of the WCHA schools and he'll have a chance to pick from several choices.

I agree that another tier would be nice but it should be just for the next level of player...not for sophomores only. Tier II should be for the next best group of players from Tier I whether they are sophomores or juniors (the way it is now). The current tier II teams have some of the best sophomore...

Mattson won't be here next year so I'd count him out. He's at Ann Arbor. He's a stud but you can't count him in if he's not playing here. I disagree about Taft. He is a great player with good size and play making ability. He'll be a player and is one of the best sophomores this season. Being 3rd lin...

I pretty sure #71 was Taft from Edina. He is a stud and had a great tryout. I heard he made Edina's High School team last year but stayed with the Bantam A's instead. He looks even bigger than last year and he dominated the ice when he was out there. Great player on what looks like a very good Elite...

Tyler Barnes from Burnsville. Leading goal scorer for Burnsville, state all tournament team last year and all around solid player. Also, Jake Hendrickson from Burnsville should be considered. They (with the help of their linemate Perisic) helped bring their team to state and they should make one of ...
