Im number 26 from Park and couldnt feel worse about this whole situation. There is no way on earth i would intensionally hurt another player or cheap shot them. I couldn't sleep at all last night thinking about Christian. Everyone knows Park and Woodbury games are physical. I was just trying to fin...

It would be next to impossible to change school district boundaries, and that is what it would take to get the Tartan and Stillwater kids who live in Woodbury into one of the other schools. There is a provision for doing it... But it would take all school districts involved to agree to it, and no f...

Do Newport kids still go to Woodbury? Newport is also spilt. It all depends what side of 61 you live on. I'm surprised they didn't try to get the Tartan and Stillwater parts of Woodbury into either of the schools. To me it would have made sense for I94 to be the dividing line between the school dis...

In reading it looks like the Suburb of Woodbury simply got a new high school and lines were drawn between both schools. But then some mentioned Park???...

Okay well answer the first part. He has a good point. The donors hand out fat checks for a new arena, but want the focus to be on academics. Fork out cash for a renovated library, new academic program etc. Point is, clearly they care about hockey, not nessacarily more than academics, but a whole bu...

STA doesn't opt up because it would signal a shift in priorities leaning towards athletics, which has stated a couple times now. I don't know how people don't understand this. It is not BS. I went there for 6 years, I would know. It is unlike any other school. Administrators want to see the athleti...

In 2002 the Westside and Harding associations folded. The boundaries between the associations in St. Paul were re-drawn. At that point, kids who are now 2nd-year PeeWees were either Mini-mites or C-mites and had played at Highland now found themselves in the Como Area. District 1 chose not to 'Gran...

I cannot speak to this season but in the past when D1 has had three regional seeds they have "returned" one them if the number of teams at a level was low.

At least one kid switched from Highland HS to Como HS to avoid any potential problems. He didn't want to get pigeon-holed into a JV only role at HHS after seeing time at both varsity & JV last season.

Now, St Thomas (as to what they are trying to do this year) is not an association. Prior Lake is allowing transfers to their organization with the intent of putting certain players together to form a team with a basis of St Thomas students. They will be a Prior Lake team under D6. (If they get the ...

Elliot: Why hasn't MN Hockey made a decision regarding privates? It seems they push this back to the districts and associations. After St. Thomas Academy and Hill-Murray finished of their state runs, the public school folks thought it was over. But two catholic schools have combined to make a run at another title. I'm talking, of course, about Boston College and Notre Dame meeting for the NCAA championship. Nice to see a nic...

MH needs to determine the future of private schools fielding bantam teams, these decisions should not be made at the district level.
