that reminds me of our days toting our boys around rinks in Buffalo. There was one crazy dad who owned a car dealership and was hell bent on keeping his kid on the ice for 51 out of 52 weeks a year. Often times had him in 2 tournaments on the same weekend and was madly running him to one rink fully...

This has string has prompted a few questions: 1: If your kid loses the passion for year round hockey at the age of 11, 12 or 13 (call it burn-out or call it whatever you want) does that mean he is doomed to beer league hockey even if he is a talented hockey player and still loves playing 7 months of...

I think the fundamental question you must ask yourself is do you think that Minnesota Made and Minnesota Hockey competes for players? I know some do both programs so that blurs the line a bit but is that the majority or the minority few? I need clarification there. However, if you beleive they do in...

Well I have been having a bit of fun with some of you about how wound up everybody gets about this stuff. So in all honesty, I will share how I really feel: If you are good, you will be found, regardless of the development model you are following. If you possess the talent, drive and passion for the...

Well you have to be somewhat of a goofball to be posting on a youth hockey forum....especially in the summer   But it does suck what the Yahoo has done to the WBL coaches. Old Goalie...I would have to agree with you on the goofball comment. I just went back and reviewed all the posts so a...

Tuesday June 28th Fiddle(Yahoo) told Scott Hambly, Scott Shaffer and Sean Padden that their services as A Bantam coaches for next season would not be needed. How do you know this? So let me get this straight, the coach actually gets fired but O'Shay says now the coach is back? Usually if somebody g...

Well I guess O'Shayyyynuts must be a Yahoo supporter!!! Word is now Yahoo got so much grief he may have reevaluated his decicison on Hammer but it's not confirmed as of yet. Too bad about the A peewee coach McFarlane he was also a great youth coach. He just ran into a bunch of nutty parents the las...

Re: WBL A Coaches
Some dad with a grudge because his kid doesn't make the A Peewee team his 1st year gets himself elected Traveling Director of the WBL Hockey Association and fires all the A coaches. Including probably one of the best coaches in youth hockey Scott Hambly the A Bantam coach and USA Select 15 coach......

Lordy, Lrdy, Lordy Players can only be rostered for 1 team. I repeat only 1 team, thus they cannot go from team to team. So you do not have to worry about loaded teams for every tourney. The structure of Tier 1 hockey prohibits the things you dislike about summer hockey, so relax and get informed b...

Ahh more cynicism. You do know it's the laziest form of debate because it's the easist emotion to summon up right? Free markets are good, most of the time and they do exist in association hockey just like they exist in Tier 1 hockey. Please tell me you know this. How is moving from Texas to St. Loui...

This is the very reason why WINTER AAA hockey needs to be prevented at all costs. The model is severely flawed. No, this is the reason that winter AAA hockey needs to happen in a controlled way. The setup now with an Invite and Open label needs to be expanded to include a Rec level and teams need t...
