box of chocolates was in terms of competition you get at the tourney's, not the kids themselves. That attack team got more blown out 7-0, 8-1, etc. Those tourney's usually have a maximum score they report. I heard they had a few games where it was over a 10 goal deficit and one team had 20+ goals on...

Point taken, that was a bad anology. I just shake my head what people pay to play in thee tournaments and the competition is a box of chocolates.

whoever they were I just heard they litterally got blown out big time in all the pool play games. This was supposed to be an invite tourney and Showcase allows a low quality open team to play with the big boys? These tourney's need a better screening process to make sure the appropriate teams are pl...

I agree it's good to see other programs besides the usual place in these tourney's.

I heard the '00 invite championship 2 weeks ago between Monopoly/ Icemen was a heck of a game. I heard the Icemen goalie played a heck of a game and saved 40+ shots.

depends on the age group. I heard the SS had trouble getting full rosters and was a bit watered down. Just looking at some of the '99 and '00 rosters from the Selects seems like many of the upper talent played in that tourney.

They should be proud winning their championship no matter how they won it or who they beat, it's probably their first of the season and they should enjoy it. Sounds like a competitive tournament which makes for some good hockey to watch. After seeing quite a bit of '99 games the '99 Legacy are not n...

Saw the '98 Deuce against the '98 Legacy. As mentioned earlier the Deuce won 3-0 and controlled the game for the most part. The Legacy goalie was very good. Overall a very solid game.

Champions I'm aware of: '98 - Thunder Bay '00 - CCM I saw this and the score above that showed 98 ccm 6 and 98 jr. Badgers 6. In both cases, this can be a bit confusing because there are 3 ccm teams at these ages (actually, I am not sure if there is a 98 ccm capitals so there may only be 2 ccm team...

You ask the question "why does Easton play in the invite over some of these teams"? Simple answer: It's their tournament. It's a Showcase tourney and yes I know Easton is under the showcase umbrella but so is other teams like the Sting, Jr. Wild, Jr. Gophers, Vipers, etc and so is CCM. My...

the '99 Icemen is a very weak team and part of the reason is how late this team was formed and lacked available '99 talent when putting it together. The Icemen has a good program but this team is more of a open '99 team. The '00 Icemen are young and pretty weak as well, more of a developmental team....

My son played up in Sauk Rapids/St. Cloud's big jamboree this past weekend. Besides my the 3 games my son played in I also watched a couple other games of friends and one of my nephew's games. I don't have a son that plays AAA hockey but as far as my 2 cents wouldn't it be beneficial to all if not all the top players play on the same team or two? What fun would it be hammering teams 12-1, 10-0 every game. Just be happy there's more competition out there and the talent is dispersed for mor...
