It's too bad that the Edina board won't give these "next 15" a chance at A to show what they can really do. My bet is that they would end up a top 20 team if they were pushed by their competition.

These courses usually deliver a helpful tidbit or two and are an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon BUT when someone can get a level 4 certification for life without stepping onto the ice it is clearly a cash grab. I have seen coaches that make me nervous for THEIR safety because they can hardly st...

Danny, you're getting too hung up on hair splitting. I agree with elliot that all teams will lose about 10% of their FPP for whatever reason (and that will tend to even out) but those are not the undisciplined teams that I am referring to. The teams that can't figure it out are the ones that can onl...

Well Put observer!! The examples above hypothetic and a little contrived. 1./ A good coach will recognize a ref calling it by the book pretty quickly and can usually reign in his team and still win the game. 2./ Usually the teams in question get only about half of their FPPs. Therefore the disadvant...

FPP and District Seeding

I saw this mentioned as a side comment in another thread and thought it deserved its own space. I have heard parents in rinks complaining that their team is being "shafted" with a lower than deserved district seeding because they have lost too many FPP. My opinion, as was the poster on the...

I would agree that Mn Made would be a much cleaner fit than Shattuck. Of course they would have to get registered with USA through MN which might be a tricky negotiation but where there is a will there is a way. In a strange sort of way the MM option might actually help keep costs down as they would...

observer, I think you must have misread the document, the High Performance Clubs will be able to sign players without having to obtain waivers from their traditional association (below is taken from the HPC Q&A blog) [b]Will there be movement restrictions geographically for individual players be...

I have heard of 3 associations so far that plan on putting in an application but need to vote on it at their board meeting first. Needless to say, they are playing it pretty close to the vest.

So if MH was on the inside of this design process are we to assume that MH won't try to throw up roadblocks should the mega associations decide to apply for High Performance Club status ? The train is leaving the station March 15th and most associations effectively only have one scheduled board meet...

Apparantly this ignorant rumor now has the official club application with timeline posted on the USAH website for download. This just in: MH has implemented a discussion group to investigate the possibility of forming a committee to discern if they may or may not grant member clubs permission to dow...

sorno, what you have described is AAA except that you have added a layer of association boards to screw it up
Or it can be seen as a compromise. The partner associations will have to get their act together if they want their top players to play at the top le...
