2009-2010 Regional Tournament

I was wondering if anybody knew which Districts would represent each region for the 2009-2010 season.

What do the USA and MN officials know? Do they coach? Chances are no and they administrate from a chair. I believe the Minnesota Hockey coach in chief IS the Providence High School head coach. So, to answer your question, yes. AND, he (Hal Tearse) is one of the biggest proponents of the 2-1 practic...

Wayzata Blue is a strong team with great speed. As a top B1 team, they can play with the smaller A teams. In District 3 they would have been competitive, but against larger associations like Wayzata A, Edina, OMGHA. They would have struggled. This is a major reason why I believe there should be a tw...

Duluth East - Good positional hockey team. The will be in the running for the title. They haven't had the hardest schedule, but will be able to prove they belong by the end. Minneapolis Park - I think they are over their heads here, but probably the 6th best team in the tournament. Will need to pull...

Hello people, he's being sarcastic. Got the three of you. There was some fussing going on about other State Tournaments so I'm guessing he cobbled this to sound like the classic fusser of all time. MAC is a great facility and St. Cloud is a fun tourney town. Well the sad part is some people have be...

Re: BANTAM B STATE TOURNAMENT

Can you believe that they are playing this tournament at the St. Cloud Municipal Athletic Complex when you have the Taj Mahal of hockey facilities there, the National Sports Center. Also, what's up with two Duluth teams making it to state when there are much more deserving teams from the metro that...

I wouldnt say Elk River dominated. It was a tough battle fought by two very good teams that went into overtime. I think the shots were close on both sides. Both teams are 2-2 against each other for the season. I would agree with this assessment. In fact towards the end it looked like Sauk Rapids wa...

Maybe the large associations are getting more ice time than the smaller associations. I know at Wayzata, most teams are on the ice 5 nights a week minimum. Wayzata uses the 3 Plymouth sheets, 1 wayzata sheet, Victory Memorial, Blake, occasionally Orono and others. Maybe the issue is the small associ...

there is not 20 teams that have a shot every year- NO WAY. I would say at most 10 teams. I'm still waiting for someone to point out a large assocaition that is not competitive. Numbers do mean success. I'm not saying if its right or wrong - but it is a fact. So are you saying there are only 10 larg...

Why don't we make everyone happy and have a compromise? We run a two tiered A system. Top programs play in AA. This would include your Wayzata, Edina, OMGHA, etc. Then you have an A level, which is your small associations plus large associations top (current) B1 teams. These teams will be listed as ...

Re: Game over

Wayzata Blue - 5 Burnsville - 1 Why would Wayzata Blue schedule a scrimmage the night before playoffs begin? One of their top scorers got hit and left the ice in the third period. Not good scheduling in my opinion. They scheduled it as a warm up to districts. No one schedules games thinking players...

Re: tricky question...

3 of the four on this list will all be facing off in the west regions... so it's tough to say. Add Wayzata Gold to the mix and the probability goes down even further. Duluth East's schedule basically doesn't have them tested until state tourney game #8 on March 21st. Duluth would actually be the #2...

I agree through the end but would also like to add the no A team and joining of IGH/SSP. Also huge complaint that D1 gets 2 teams to regionals yet only has 4 teams at the A bantam lvl, also gets the third place finisher with a play-in-game with D4 Third place for a trip to Regionals? Centennial's D10 record is 15-4-3, why aren't they in the top 20? I personally don't think they are a top 20 team. They finished behind Elk River and Sauk Rapids. What big games have they won? If they posted scores on their website maybe the voters would recognize if they should be in the top 20.

HockeySLP good post. With the numbers that some of these Associations have that makes sense. Why not give more players the "A" experience. I'll tell you why. "A" hockey is for the top hockey players in the state. Not the top hockey players of an association. If you can't compete...

yes, sometimes a better team finishes behind in the standings. However, I don't think you can argue with a ranking of one team when they are ahead of you in the standings. That was my point. If you don't like where you are ranked, you have a month to change it. You are the only one that can change i...
