hokey - So we agree that any co-op or average team can win district 1. Regionals you can look over again at all levels. So, understanding that it would not be very challenging for most average teams to get to state (taking the same path as Mpls Pk), an association can't do much worse than 1-8 in 9 g...

Hockeyguy - That's the only reason I posted. To say their teams made it to state, competed in state, or lost in state means very little when the road to get there was not very challenging. I personally don't care if Mpls Pk expands... good for them. To say they have been anything other than 'above a...

Muck, Exactly my point... they have gotten much stronger in a short period of time. Has the recipe for success been: a) a miraculous change in their development b) Co-op talent c) Playing in a very weak district. d) both b and c. I only pointed out the D3 games because D3 teams must list the W-L-T i...

makes sense for St Louis Park...
Think about it... Minneapolis Park has very average teams at all levels. They are right around .500 in their games against District 3 opponents, but ironically these games don't count against them in their path to the post season. They coast through their regular season and tournament in District 1....

dlh: "Not sure what bee has got into your bonnet about DE, but you're certainly taking it to them on quite a few forum topics. They have played roughly 11-12 games against 7 of the teams in the last top 20 and won more than half of them. Sorry if we beat you and that's the problem. We're having...

State
Correct Hawk. I should've said game #7 on 3/21 of state. DE's first state game would be against the #1 seed from the South Region. Unless my facts are incorrect... they have no possibility of playing a top 20 team between now and March 21st. This means only two key victories gets them the title... i...

tricky question...
3 of the four on this list will all be facing off in the west regions... so it's tough to say. Add Wayzata Gold to the mix and the probability goes down even further.
Duluth East's schedule basically doesn't have them tested until state tourney game #8 on March 21st.

Thanks for the info Pack... So, taking out the week delay in LPH, any thoughts on this line-up? 1 WAYZATA BLUE - 42-1-2 deserving in all aspects. 2 Sauk Rapids - 45-2-0, only team to beat big Blue. Plays sound. 3 Duluth East - Given credit for W-L-T, but not necessarily for depth or complete games. ...

M&G I'm on the fence with this one. I definitely don't like coaches who stall, but Refs are given very specific guidelines on what they can do... it's called the rule book. The only variable is their quality of judgement. If we're really talking about a game of this magnitude (i believe this was...

1 WAYZATA BLUE - deserving 2 Duluth East - I would say deserving, but top to bottom not as strong (for 3 periods) as surrounding teams. 3 Sauk Rapids - very solid team. 4 Eagan Blue - 34-7-4 (only 2 wins vs. a top 10 team at the time) Still a top 10, solid team. 5 Wayzata Gold - 30-4-5 Proven they c...

Never (yet) having a kid in JG, just wondering if it is a rough as I've heard. I've only been to a handful of games and haven't seen anything (fights, cheap shots) you wouldn't see in Bantam's or HS. Is it becoming more of a myth about JG being a 'goon' league? Is the pre-game handshake still a resu...
