Points the Wild Lost

Post by HShockeywatcher »

I am an avid Wild fan, but I cannot remember the specific games in mind:

There was one game where the Wild came back from behind 0-1 to tie it then to score again and the goal was called off. Then they lost 1-2. Play was stopped for about 10 minutes then ruled not a goal. Then they showed the replay and you didn't even have to know the rules of hockey to know that it was clearly way over the line. The wouldn't had momentum that was taken away, maybe won, at least had 1 point from going into OT, but are the best team in the NHL in OT, probably 2.

I can't remember the result of this game, I'm pretty sure it was a tie and an OT loss, but a guy on the Wild shot and scored and the ref called the goal off. They thought another player on the Wild hit the goalie or did something to him that prevented him from making the save, but the replay clearly showed the player never made contact with the goalie. So, momentum was taking away again and probably a win.

So, in all probably 3 points the Wild should have that they don't. The old "well if you're really better you should out play the refs bad calls" don't work for the Wild. They are a low scoring team with probably the most 1 goal games and probably one of the top defensive teams because of it. First, can anyone remind me of the games? Second, what gives? The wild wouldn't have ever left 1st in the division with those points, but instead they have been down at low as 9th in the conference.

The Wild will make the playoffs and their defensive style will pay off the way it did the last time they made the playoffs. Western Conference Finals I believe.

I agree. If we can start to win as well on the road as at home we could have home ice for a decent majority of the playoffs. There is no one in the Western Conference we can't beat. We are 2-1 against Nashville and play them once more. Winning out in January would be really nice and pretty realistic.
