Richfield Bantam B1 Tourney

Top 4 teams in the tournament were on the same side of the bracket. Come on Richfield, do your homework before these teams come to lace it up. Championship Edina 10 Cabbage Grove 0. 3rd place game Burnsville 9 Buffalo 1. White Bear Lake 10 Prior Lake 2.

I helped put the Richfield tourney together and I think we did the best that we could have at the time with the pairings.

Critics...it's early in the season. Buffalo's team had their first practice together less than two weeks ago. The Burnsville/Buffalo game was much closer than the 9-1 final. It was 1-0 after one period and the shots were 9 to 5 in favor of Burnsville. Buffalo was missing two players (hunting/game misconduct) so a 12 skater roster eroded to 10. During the 3rd period we lost 2 more players to penalties...so we skated with 8 players. Our goalie struggled.

Without a doubt the 4 best teams were in the same bracket but we look forward to playing these teams later in the season.

Cut Richfield some slack!

Richfield Tournament

Post by hockeymoms »

Yes, it is REALLY easy to sit back, enjoy the games and criticize the parents who are volunteering to make this event happen for their association and ALL players and teams. I'll probably open a can of worms here, but how many tournaments have any of us been in charge of? How easy is it at this point in the season to determine the rankings of teams? If people have issues with tournaments (or anything for that matter) why not offer up some helpful advice and input - which we are all very happy to receive - instead of being so negative and blaming. Yes, I'm a hockey pacifist!!! I think we could all do better working together instead of against eachother - for the good of the game that we all love!
Peace!

Yah I agree Richfield didn't come to play but I just found out that they took third place in the Fariboult Tourney this weekend and beat Farmington 5-2 in the 3rd place game. And they are undefeated in their league play. But I have to tell ya that Richfield definetly had some problems.
