Captains for next year: Billy Leier, Derek McCallum, Joey McEnaney. Should be a good group coming back next year for the Pioneers.

There are so many deserving kids in HM's class of 2006. it's too bad we don't have alternates.

29 of 30 ain't all bad. hill will be back after a very unexpected detour. had to happen sometime. i think hill's section championships, tournament appearances, trophy case, and alumni that have gone on to play college and pro hockey speaks very well for the storied traditions of pioneer hockey.

hey buddy whose your team

mine is hill i will stand by them look who they have back next year well lets see here mike hoeffel amazing hands fast big, brian Arrigoni small but strong plays likes 6"3 and can score just like hoeffel. Derek mccalum great d man offensive threat. goalies not a question this year eithe rjoe phillipi will be the stud or rumor has it cary wood will be wearing green

returners: 1st line=1
2nd line=3
3rd line=2
4th line=2

defensive returners: Billy leier derek mccalum mac garceau gabe guenztel

only one that hurts leaving is mike phillipi who can be replaced

Just kidding guys, I got two family members who played at Hill, but I decided to play elsewhere. I gave them a lot of crap for the Polars beating the Pioneers. I just like to get you guys going too. Lechner is a great coach and you guys should want to keep him there. Every player I know who played for him loved em'. Good luck in the future and who knows I might end up coaching there someday.

Carey Wood

Post by Hockeyisthebest21 »

Why would Carey Wood leave what he has? Two state tournaments in the past two years '04 & '05. Hill has not been there since '02. Hill has not faired too well besides that 2nd place finish in '02. 3-7 overall record since the two class system has been added.

hmm

Post by tenders30 »

carey wood would only go to hill because Tartan will be pretty bad next year. They are losing 5 from the first two lines and 2 from the third line. and 3 defense. they will struggle next year.

About Wood, tendors says it. It looks as if Tartan will be down next year, so right now it is a possibility that me may come over. There have been many rumors flying around, saying that he's coming to Hill. Do I think he will? Personally, no, as of now I don't. But I could very easily be wrong....

You just never know. He had 2 great years at Tartan but they are gonna be very average next year. It would be a very tough decision for him but I could see him leaving. Even that 1 win in the tourney this year makes it that much harder too leave. If they went 2 and out it would be a little easier to leave. Good luck to him!

Pro's of Wood transferring to HM: 1). Opportunity to play on a more competitive team next year. The past two seasons have put Wood on the radar screen. If his team declines & his numbers slide, he may fall off that screen. Playing against the best teams in the state in Hill's non-conference shcedule will expose Wood the best talent around whcih will be beneficial for scouts to compare him to others.
2). Education. If Wood is seriously considering playing college hockey, HM offers a better educational system to prepare an individual for college accademics.
3). HM is right down the road.

Con's of Wood tranferring: Leaving the program he has played thru & leaving the friends he has played with. Tough decision. But if the people in the program & his friends believe it is best thing for Wood, then they should support it. If he is considering transferring just to play hockey, he may be surpised by all the other positive aspects of being a HM student has.

If he or anyone else is seriously considering transferring to Hill, I would strongly recommend spending a day "shadowing" another Hill student for a day at the school. You get a day away from your own school & also get a chance to get an idea what HM is all about.
