Anoka Hennepin School District Strike - Does Play Continue?

Anoka Hennepin school district has filed notice to strike, and according to news sources that strike could begin as soon as January 8 if they don't settle. Do the athletic programs also go on hold if this takes place? High Schools that could be impacted include Andover, Anoka, Blaine, Champlin Park and Coon Rapids. I did some research and found some un-cited articles (including from AI) that says play is suspended if they strike. Does anyone have firsthand knowledge of how something like this would be handled?
