I heard that Chan has decided to only have 31 skaters during Captains practice. 35 had signed up but 4 were cut and looking to play elsewhere. It is likely that these guys will make the JV team.
Has anyone heard of this happening before? Seems a bit odd.

There is almost no chance this is true. That program is notorious for keeping an oversized JV team and the coaches have been vocal in the community about their dislike in cutting kids. You could argue to a fault. So much so that they have kept seniors on JV the last few years. Definitely their state tournament year in 2024 with over 20 seniors in the program. What you are saying would be extremely out of character.

Captains practice is essentially a funding operation outside of obvious preparation for the upcoming season. It's nearly unheard of for programs to not take as many kids as possible as it's 600-700 a pop, which goes a long way these days. Is Chan that deep this year to do that?
