6AA Playoffs

Post by ryguyMN »

The semis for 6AA are listed as BIG on the MSHSL site and TBD for the Final. Perhaps playing at Ridder isn't a done deal yet?

EDIT: The actual bracket shows Ridder so it adds to the confusion. Perhaps TBD needs to be updated to Ridder?

BENILDE AND ARMSTRONG

And the winner is???
In that scenario:

QF:
Edina over Hopkins
Wayzata over SLP - juiciest 4/5 matchup in AA

BSM over A/C
AHA over Blake

SF:
Edina over Wayzata - tight contest
BSM over AHA - tight contest

The way BIG Rink 1 deserves to be closed out, if the games are indeed there.

F:
Edina over BSM

I went chalk. Welcome to the tourney, Edina. All five people applauded.

I like Giles, I like the Hornets, I liked the cheerleaders from back in the day, but those stories cannot be told here.
The tourney is better with the green team.

The actual bracket lists Ridder Arena for the Final so now I'm confused why one is TBD and the other is Ridder.

The bracket says the 6AA final is at Ridder Feb 26, 6:00pm.
2AA final is at Braemar Feb 27, 7:00pm as it has been the past few years.
So no 2AA/6AA back-to-back like in years past, which I would love to see again. Ridder isn't big enough for the doubleheader.

Just noticed that with Ridder being on the bracket page. I do miss the 2AA/6AA doubleheader. It was a good value.

It's like the NY Yankees. It wouldn't be the post-season without Edina at the X.

1) Edina (if they win Sat). If Wayzata ties or wins - they are 1
2) Wayzata
3) BSM
4) AHA
5) Blake
6) SLP
7) Hopkins
8) Armstrong/Cooper

SLP is better than Blake and A/C is better than Hopkins - but head to head is what counts. Thats 3-6 game will be nuts after the fireworks that happened last Saturday.

In the past, when Edina has not made the tournament, it's proven to be amusing to arrive for a Thursday session and approach an usher to ask, "Where's the Edina section? They're in this thing every year." They usually look around the arena and say, "Ahhhh .." I've never had one tell me they aren't there that year. I get it, to people who work in the building, it's just another event.

There is an usher who is a White Bear fan, and I always approach her and declare, "Hill-Murray sucks!'' Gets a smile every time.
