Long explanation is that I don't think they played well against Hill-Murray, but maybe they got off to a slow start and couldn't get on track. Bull's argument is that Donahue plays well this week and the team really is among the top tier. If that's true they probably get past Stillwater & Prior Lake and have a shot with the Hornets. If it isn't true they should have two very good matches and one where they are simply overmatched by a very strong Edina team.
2. Who will go 0-3-0 --- I'll say nobody. Field is pretty solid and even on their worst day this week everybody should be able to eke out a tie.
3. Who will get upset using current LPH rankings from 12-19-18? --- Using those rankings with St. Thomas at #5 it would be a big upset for them to lose to Stillwater or Prior Lake. See above. If they aren't a top flight team and closer to the 11-20 range that means they'll be in for a dogfight in both of those.
4. Who will be the leading goal scorer? --- Jack Jensen
5. Who will be the top tendy? --- Donahue. He's dying to prove that the 1st period versus Hill was an aberration and I think he does that. Interested in seeing if Chaska uses Stark, and if so how he does.

1. Eden Prairie 3-0
2. Stillwater 0-3
3. Edina...I mean they have to lose 1 game before close of '18, right? A tight, hard fought battle w/ a L might be good? Little humility goes long way...
4. Jack Jensen
5. Muzzy Donohue
(ok, thats as 'Costanza' as I can muster)
2. Stillwater 0-3

Edina scrapes past Moorhead 6-5 in an entertaining, back-and-forth affair. The Hornets controlled long stretches, but (tell me if you've heard this one before) they have a tendency to bleed goals. The top line, when it's rolling, has the prettiest passing sequences in the state, and the second line got the crucial tying and go-ahead goals. That emerging depth is really the key to Edina's success right now.
The Spuds' top line had a very strong night in its own right, and they created good chances when they got the opportunity. They continue to be a pesky team, but haven't quite broken through against an elite opponent.

Karl, this reminds me of a great quote from Shaq. The media harped on him about missing foul shots and had a great reply. "If I didn't miss those you wouldn't have anything to talk about."karl(east) wrote: ↑Thu Dec 27, 2018 9:27 pmThe Hornets controlled long stretches, but (tell me if you've heard this one before) they have a tendency to bleed goals.
Yes, Edina does have to find a way to not give up so many goals. Counting on outscoring teams in a shootout works until it doesn't. I don't know if being a spurty goal scoring team has an antonym, but the Hornets would be it. Cretin 3 goals in about 5 minutes and today Moorhead with a couple back-to-backs.
Credit the Spuds. Awesome showing today. Lots of great games around Minnesota.
