Brian Salcido from Shattuck and now Colorado College was also drafted by Anaheim (who traded up to get him) in the 6th round.

Puckster, you had a question mark by Sauer so thought I would clear that up for those interested. Sauer is a native of Sartell who played high school hockey for them his freshman year, then transferred to AA hockey playing for St.Cloud Tech his sophomore year. His junior year he went on to play Junior's....Seattle? Not sure on that part.

Kudos to all of these fine young men who made the draft...Minnesota hockey rocks!

I thought I saw somewhere that Russia didn't get anyone in the first round or at least before Niskanen was picked
Elk River AA State Champions- 2001 Boys & 2004 Girls

I understood that per some agreement, European countries weren't in the NHL draft this year...could be mistaken though.

Re: Big day for MN at the draft
Can someone tell me a little about Joe Fallon. Maybe Elliot70 can help. I am from northern Minnesota and I have never heard of this kid, did he ever play high School in Bemidji or was he just born there? Was he always a great goalie coming up or was he a late bloomer and how come he ended up out east?
