GRAND RAPIDS AT BEMIDJI

Post by elliott70 »

Lumberjacks have a little streak going, can they keep it up?

The THawks have a six game win streak against two northern rivals, 2 section teams and two good metro teams. Will they stomp on Bemidji?

I would expect another close game here. Probably be similar to the last time they played each other. Hopefully the Injuns can pull it out.

I am also looking for Bemidji to make a nice playoff push again this year.

Rapids has been playing their best hockey of the season after an ugly loss to Duluth East. Their forwards are getting much better depth than in the early part of the season. Mostly I want them to win to keep their momentum going, but also I could see a slight possibility of them getting the #2 seed in 7AA if the coaches give enough weight to overall season result and a 18-4-1 record possible at the time of seeding. I hope Bemidji can have continued success and it is nice to see my 2nd favorite team appear to be getting on a nice run before the playoffs. I wouldn't mind seeing a repeat of last years final up in TRF.

3-2-1 Section record vs East at 6-1 might be tough sell DJ.

I agree Al. I have even thought about the possibility of ending up 4 although I think 3 is more likely given the way they have played since the East game.

Oranges to Apples. That is not a proper comparison because they don't play the same section opponents or the same teams the same number of games. When it comes down to it I don't give a rats ass if they are 2 or 3 because obviously you play the same team at Amsoil. That said, for what it is worth, I have seen some odd things happen over the years in 7AA seedings and my comment was about the OVERALL SEASON RESULT. Comparing the OVERALL SEASON RESULT (not section record, again NOT section record) Grand Rapids has a more impressive result than East to this point.

They play the exact same section teams. Only have to look as far as the Andover result for your answer. Your right though not a big deal between 2 or 3. As far as full season body of work, didn't help ER last year but got drilled byEast anyways.

Does Elk River play Cloquet or Duluth Marshall?

Injuns over the Jacks 4-2. Should be a good game but I think GR will be too much for a depleted bemidji squad.

You may have to add Bemidji by a lot to your poll.
