Goalie Performance

In response to a question on a different thread about how Elite League Goalies are performing so far this season:

Selected Goalies this year 90-93% Save Percent , who were also in Elite:

Scites PL roughly same as last year and better than Elite

Begley HM about same as last year and better than Elite

Swanson MAHT, dont have last year handy but better than Elite

Hanson MTKA , above last year and above Elite

Bischell BSM, above last year and above Elite

Benson SW, dont have last year handy, but above Elite


The other three Elite goalies Ive been tracking are Schilling, Stej and Durocher (limited Elite action ) all are performing below Elite levels in terms of save percent so far this season, but there is still plenty of season left for rebound

Worth noting the following other top 15 AA goalies with major minutes who are above 90% and who werent in Elite:

Weinzik EP
Moe HF

Gerads BL
Fitzgerald BEM
Meyers ELK
Kelly STA
Waszczenko WAYZ
DeGrood ED
Stauber HF
Capeeza STA


I would note I most closely follow the top 15 AA teams. I dont track all the outstate or most A goalies. Others might add them to this thread for comparison. Meanwhile, if I have missed or mischaracterized anyone, apologize in advance

Can you recall another time when a goalie was selected for the "elite" team then ended up not being the starter for their home team? I find that selection perplexing. Not saying he isnt skilled. And maybe he is hurt. But surely North had varsity proven options. Which is why that league lacks credibility for so many
