They need to go to someplace that doesn't have a long-standing hockey tradition. Someplace like Mankato, New Ulm, Alexandria, St. Cloud area, etc. Have any of these town hosted before?

I like that idea. Maybe it would provide a shot-in-the-arm to a hockey community that needs it!

I agree, give it to a new hockey community so their youth association can benefit. How about Breck or Benilde or St. Thomas or Holy Family or Duluth Marshall?

Im hearing its coming back to Elk River (the Pit). The Fox North suits loved the place and its made for tv. The powers that be (volunteer coordinators have been notified). I like the going to different communities year after year but sounds like its going to stay in Elk River from here on out.

Very funny. Wasn't aware those programs had a full-fledged youth program.

Awesome. It will be fun to look forward to finding out where the event will be held every year, fun to look forward to seeing how the facility will come together, and fun to get a glimpse into a hockey community some of our kids never play(ed) in. Or not. Should probably think about changing the name to Hockey Day Elk River. #-o#-o#-o

The Pit was cool, but to have it there every year doesn't seem right. Especially if Elk River was always playing in it. Now if they're in 7AA I don't mind it from watching a 7AA team, but they should change it up. What I saw Michael Russo tweet a few months ago was Hockey Day 2016 would be the week before the Hawks/Wild at TCF Bank stadium, and there would be events all week leading up to the Winter Classic. I'm kind of over the outside thing, just isn't that important to me anymore. I would like to see a quadruple header starting with a tour of the college rinks, Amsoil Arena, Sanford Center, NHC, and Mankato. Show the first two on FSN, next two on the alternate to accomodate the Gophers and Wild. For a hockey day at Amsoil Arena, I would suggest Duluth Marshall vs Edina, Duluth East vs Eden Prairie, Grand Rapids vs Hill Murray, and Cloquet vs Wayzata.

How about having it in St.Cloud or Bemidji?

A few teams that should be in are, Wayzata, Burnsville, Lakeville North, Roseville, Edina, Jefferson, Anoka and Bemidji. I don't believe any of these schools have been in Hockey Day Minnesota.

What if they picked Duluth and put it down at Bayfront? They could have concerts and various games throughout the week leading up to the HS games. I agree with an Edina East game for sure

Wayzata played Roseau when it was in Moorhead in 2011 but the rest of the teams on your list would be first timers.

I believe Edina has been invited in the past, but turned it down. Giles apparently doesn't have any interest.

I'd definitely like to see Jefferson at some point, and Lakeville North would be a sensible participant this coming year. Bemidji, too.

Has South St. Paul ever been? If they do an A game as they have some years, I'd get the Packers in there against a northern team for nostalgia's sake.

I'm a little biased here, but if the St. Cloud Youth Hockey Association and area high school and college teams stepped up, a Hockey Day on Lake George would be amazing. Putting the Gophers up against the Huskies would be pretty awesome as well. This won't happen next year, but some time in the near future it would be great.

Also, let's get this thing to White Bear Lake for crying out loud.

I think Duluth deserves one with two dominate programs right in town and one right next door.

What a great event that would be for Hockey Day!! Show a couple top Bantam teams. I think everyone would be interested to watch that. Spice it up a bit.
