MN HS Player Rankings

Post by observer »

Interesting attempt. Some are well ranked while several aren't ranked where they should be. Some are missing altogether.

These rankings mean absolutely nothing. How can you rank players unless you have seen every single player play multiple times. Sorry i don't put any stock into anyone's rankings of high school players.

Adam Johnson plays for Hibbing, not Virginia. Whoever did these rankings needs to put down the booze.

All I've heard is how poor this ranking is. Give it a shot smart asses rather then rip!

Relax everyone, its just one persons opinion, I personally appreciate their effort in putting the list together whether its accurate or not. Like any ranking of anything there are going to be differences of opinion.

Some Minnesota kids that made the u17 and u18 National teams not on the list of great players from Minnesota Or SSM KIDS from Minnesota ? Missing a few but Fun to See all the great kids doing well regardless if they are not on the list !!!!! USHL coaches and College coaches have a pretty good idea who is who......... at this point of the game....

How did Matt Colford-Breck not make the list for seniors. One of the top scorers in the elite league. Much better than half the guys in the top 20..bad list

That's the great thing about these lists, they foster debate. It also seems that the compiler did not just blindly follow numbers, which many other experts tend to do. and with so much said on this board about the shakiness of elite league scoresheets, it seems wise to look at a deeper list of what makes a player rise above others.

Of course, goals and assists are crucial, but coaches obviously need other types of skills on the ice. if not, coaches wouldn't teach aspects such as defense, checking, creating turnovers, forechecking, winning faceoffs, blocking shots, killing penalties, breakouts, etc., etc.

This Scorekeeper should stick with writing game predictions for Vegas.
