Bezek is the same Idiot that forced current Thief River head coach Bergland out of the Fergus Falls head coaching position about 5 or 6 years ago.
Back to back state tourney trips for TRF the last two years.
Bezek doesnt know squat about good coaching.

Would be nice if the Three Stooges (Bizak, Bizal & Cunningham) could man up and explain their side. Don't hold your breath that will never happen!!!!!
One can only hope these 3 outsiders don't screw up the Elks storied winning tradition.

Not saying I like Bezek at all, but.....thought Bergland quit.

Sarsland's record numbers don't seem to add up. Everyone is claiming that his record is 588-277-26. That is a total of 891 games over 27 years. Simple math would tell me that is an average of 33 games per season, let alone 21 wins per season. When did the MN High School League start playing 33 game season's?

Sarsland's side of the story:
"One of our leading scorers received a checking from behind penalty . . ." in a late-season game, Sarsland said. "I pulled him aside and told him he was done for the night. . . . A few games later, the same player received another checking from behind penalty. It was his second in three games. Again I pulled him over to the side, this time a little more aggressively and told him, 'This can't happen again.' "
"A few days later at work, I was pulled into the principal's office and told there were allegations against me, saying I was physically abusive to the players. This came as a huge shock to me. I have never shaken a player or hurt them."
Pretty clever to play the sensistive coach role relating to the checking from behind culture that is out there. We all know there's more incidents and more to the story.

27 years is just at Elk River, that was not his first HS Coaching job.....inyourhead wrote:Sarsland's record numbers don't seem to add up. Everyone is claiming that his record is 588-277-26. Sarsland probably knew what was coming and stepped down right before the hearing on Monday, to prevent the school district from releasing the results of the investigation. This was probably a smart move on his part, so now we just hear his side of the story. The school district is now restricted from releasing the results would be my guess.ERPWA Hockey wrote:Like I said earlier at least Sarsland had the hockey pucks to talk about his side of the story.
That is way more than the school mafia will ever do on this topic, silence is their policy
Assumptions...I think everyone knows there is more to the story. If the truth is Sarsland's version than there is no reason to step down. Correct? This wasnt the first time Sarsland has had issues with an "aggressive" approach to things. Correct? Althought according to his words he has never layed a hand on someone. Ummm. Ok.
So, Sarsland felt he could speak his two cents knowing the school district wont make a detailed statement like he did. Therefore he makes himself look right.
Best part about this is I can go to an Elk River game and not have to listen to him scream

I'm a little confused here.
The tribune article makes it sound like the sophomore, after the second penalty, should have been suspended, but the coach broke the rules because "I can't have my best scorer on the bench".
Then the rest of this discussion seems to imply that the coach did something to the kid. And there is another faction here saying he's a saint and everyone around him (principal, etc) are idiots.
So, what happened?

Ya, the way it looks he didn't keep his word. The kid should've been benched...if that was actually a rule...the article also says "major" penalty..maybe he didn't get two majors.Django wrote:I'm a little confused here.

If you win, you gain supporters, bottom line.
I do not think anyone will really hear the whole story to this. No one on here is totally supporting this coach, no one seems to be really burnign him at the stake either....
