Ouch! I saw him on the roster of the USHL Des Moines Buccaneers over the weekend and was curious. If true, what a way to wreck a great opportunity. Most NTDP players stay two years. That will hurt his future as colleges favor students with good academic standing.

It helps, but if you are a good player and they want you, you will play in any WCHA school. I'm sure there are many marginal academic players in college hockey. He is commintted to UND and if they think he can play, he will be there!
Is he allowed to move back to play high school hockey? the reason I ask is maybe mom and dad should bring him back home to focus on the education part of things. Obviously I am only saying this if academics is the reason for his dismissal.
They don't kick players out of the NTDP at mid-season for academics. The times they have removed a player from the team during the season was for behavior issues.
