In looking at the Let's Play Hockey rankings, the future does not look good for any of the Northern teams. Hermantown looks to have the best possibility for success, but none of the AA schools are ranked highly, It appears that if Duluth East doesn't win the AA title this year, it may not happen for a long long time if ever.

lol ... Really???? Pretty sure they will be descent at the very worst... they play one of the toughest schedules in the state and have never been under .500 in the past 30 yrs or so?

The Roseau sophomore class won state as PeeWees and VFW state last year as Bantams. Also Grand Rapids next year should be a top 5 team. I know nothing of Moorhead's youth teams but I can't imagine them falling too far away from the state's elite for more than a year or two at a time, regardless of what letsplayhockey says right now.

Those of you down in the cities realize that Duluth East and Denfeld are under the same school district, correct? Good luck to you when Denfeld and East combine on one hockey team. Duluth will still have a smaller enrollment than some of the biggest schools in the Twin Cities.

It seems as though East and Denfeld already are combined as one team, with East being the A team and Denfeld being the B team. Several of East's players played in the west Duluth youth association, and it seems as if there is at least one player that went to Denfeld because he didn't make the East team.(I'm going off what I have read on this board, so please correct anything I'm missing) I mean, how many players on Denfeld would even make East's varsity? Talarico and maybe Thompson the goalie?

Now if East and Hermantown co-opted, that would be a juggernaut.

What we said was that Terry Cullen left coaching after his boys (all 3 of 'em) graduated. That's a fact - he did.

We were pondering whether Mike Randolph might do the same. Nobody but you said it was a "big deal". It's a free country - they can do what they want, whether you like it or not !

East is basically a Duluth AAA Team as 3 of the top 6 or so East players moved from Lakers. They were the top Lakers.
We saw what happened to them when they lost 1 of the Lakers (Val) and their recruited goalie against Tonka.

I think East is in a unique situation that most towns do not have. None of these Schools,

have another big school (amature hockey program - Lakers) next door.
Many of the best kids on the Lakers somehow get on the East team.
I don't think it goes the other way. Not saying it is wrong, just telling it like it is.
