Let's Play Hockey 2011-12

Greetings from Let's Play Hockey. The 2011-12 season is underway and we're excited for our 40th year as the longest-running hockey newspaper in the nation. To help us make this season our best ever, we're looking to you, the members of youth hockey community, for your submissions to LPH. Below are several notes on how you can contribute to Let's Play Hockey in 2011-12.

* Your youth hockey team has just fared well in a tournament or has bonded through an act of community service, and you’re ready to let the hockey-loving readers of Let’s Play Hockey know about it. Send in a story and photo to LPH. And it’s free! The youth hockey community is the lifeblood of Let's Play Hockey and we want to make sure your association's coaches, managers and parents know how to submit their stories and photos to us. Go to http://www.letsplayhockey.com/HowtoSubmittoLPH.pdf for a PDF explaining how to submit to LPH.

* We enlist youth hockey coaches and managers as rankers for the official Minnesota youth hockey rankings that appear in each issue LPH. If you want to become a ranker, send a note to editor@letsplayhockey.com. Please provide your current position on your team and your team name.

* We need to provide our rankers with as many scores as we can to get them to take notice of teams, perhaps your own team. Team managers or coaches should email a team’s weekly scores each week by noon on Mondays to editor@letsplayhockey.com. Don’t forget to include the level of play. Only send the previous one week’s scores, from the previous Monday through Sunday.

* Let's Play Hockey is looking to you for interesting/unique story ideas from your team/association. Anything will do - from inspirational tales of overcoming adversity, to famous family members, to family members serving in the military, to extraordinary acts of community service, to stories on how your association is helping to grow hockey, to any other human interest stories that you might have on your team. We'll use your story ideas for possible future articles within the pages of Let's Play Hockey. It's just another way for you to promote your team and association.
