I don't know the rules Minnesota Hockey may have against this, but I wanted to see if this was possible....
I have an 8 year old girl (about to be 9) that plays boys squirt hockey here in Dallas.
Because she is so young, our association is not going to roster her on the U12 girls travel team after all. There are no girls squirt (or U10) teams here in Texas - she has to play alongside and/or against boys, which is not a bad thing at all. She has had some success statistically doing this, however I want her to have a chance to play with and against other girls close to her age.
Is there any team/coach/association out there that would allow my daughter to participate in a tournament this fall or winter (2011-2012 season) in Minnesota ???? Don't care what tournament it is - but Centennial Tournament and All American Girls tournament (both in Blaine) are appealing, as my daughter and I visited that incredible facility in April. But I am open to any tournament or schedule of games -- even scrimmages.....
Of course, if the rules are so stringent everywhere, this might be just a moot point.
I want to see how she does amid other girls of like-age from a traditional hockey state like Minnesota.
Thanks.
