Fun time. Results posted timely[sp?]. My 98's team played the Jr. jets from Wis. in the champ. Game went to 13 kid shoot-out after the OT. Parents on both teams Shaking hands & congratulating each other. Nice to see that kind of class.[even if they are packer fans] Not a invite level tourny but a good open event. At least at the 00, and 98 age groups. Good time alot of beer in the parking lot at Blaine between Canadian/Wisc/teams.And the oldgoalie.

I agree. It was a very good time. A really good open level event with some pretty solid teams at the top, and the 5 man shootout before each game is a fun twist for the kids. Glad to hear about the Class exhibited by the two teams in the championship game at the 98 level, that is always good to know about.

Oldgoalie, did you have a son at the 2000 level as well?

Yes, that team was over it's head vs 00 skate to exin the first game. then played tough the rest of the way. The Nats 00 are a younger 00, and we have two 01's that play as well. They all seemed to enjoy it even though had measured success. Mine is still an 01 so as long as he thinks its fun it's cool w/me. How about you??? To bad I didn't know you were there.{beer]

Agreed...very fun tourney this year. Second year playing in it with our 00 Pond team, and good to see more teams this year. Tourney was very well run and its always fun being up in Blaine with all the games going on around you. Saw some good teams in the semi's and 3rd place game.

Anyone know why Skate to Excellence has two teams playing at the same level, but so different talent-wise? We played the eventual champs in the semi's and they were very talented, yet their other team seemed to have really struggled? Just curious.

My son played for the 2000 Jr. Jets this past weekend (he was #7 and played center if that helps you remember anything). I thought we played well overall and my son had alot of fun. We played up there back to back weekends and I think it started taking it's toll on the kids by about the third game, but kudos to the Reebok Nats in that game I thought they really went after us with all they had in that game and played us very tough. We played STE at 7:30am on Saturday morning but I thought we skated right with them, a couple kids looked like they were still in bed and we had a couple of unlucky bounces but their goalie was awesome in that game, the score may not have indicated it but it was actually a pretty even game, up and down, shots on goal pretty even but kudos to their goalie he was a wall in net that game (would have loved a second chance at them). Were able to win the final game against Colorado Renegades 7-2 so went home with a 3-1 record and feeling pretty good about the season. We're done now so it's time to relax and enjoy some down time. I too wish I'd know who you were, would have been glad to share a beer and a laugh.

I'm not sure what Terry has going on over there in Cen. I do know that you can't beat blaine for a tourny!!! It sucks when you have two or more kids in the same event and they are at ten different rinks!!!! Blaine has it going on. They have 8 sheets at Shwans, and two more at Fogerty. Plus they had a huge soccer tourny, & a baseball event w/20 plus teams. We [Forest Lake] could barely get two sheets. I bet alot of $$$ was spent in Blaine this weekend.

jsr, I have a son on the ste team and I told many people after that early morning game against your team that the score did not reflect the true game. I recall telling my son that your team would be the tough game of pool, I believe we scored on a early penalty and maybe another and our goalie did his job, both goalies this weekend did well every game,...I don't have a goalie on this team, my oldest is a goalie...I agree it was a well run tournament and can't beat the location.

Thanks for the comments. Your team was a very good team and very deserving of winning the tourney and your goalie(s) played exceptional. Good job. Losing is never fun but it was a good game for our kids. Thanks
