Yes, in fact between periods of the boys tourney there an interview with a guy who was representing the MSHSL and he confirmed this.

Can teams still drop down to class A? Example...a co-op making them double A drops out, thus they can now play class A. Can this still happen? I have heard rumors that Duluth Marshall is dropping from proctor hermantown...which makes me wonder if proctor hermantown will drop to class A

Yes, based on past history, if a coop drops a school and their enrollment goes below the cutoff, they can be placed in the lower class. an example was the boys coop of Delano/Rockford/Watertown-Mayer. A few years back they were assigned to Section 6AA, but then Watertown-Mayer switched to work with Mound-Westonka, dropping Delano/Rockford back into A.

I would think Northern Lakes (Pequot Lakes) would be moving back down to A. I don't think there are any kids from Aitkin on the team anymore.
