NWSC preview for 2-3-11

Post by Maple Grove Crimson#1 »

Here is whats on tap for the NWSC this Thursday Feb-3 2011

Game of the Night:

#25 Osseo Orioles (12-6)
@
#19 Blaine Bengals (12-4-3)

Last 10, current Streak:
Osseo (7-3) 2W
Blaine (6-3-1) 1W

This is a huge game for both in the fight for the Number 2 seed in section 5AA, loser takes a huge hit and may end up the 4 seed.
Blaine won the first matchup at Osseo 4-0, Nick Malvin with a 27 save shutout.
My prediction:
Osseo-4
Baline-5
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Other game of note

#5 Maple Grove Crimson (15-3-1)
@
Champlin Park Rebels (9-9)

Last 10, current streak:
Maple Grove (9-1) 9W
Champlin Park (5-5)1W

Maple Grove coming off there big week travels down the road to face the Rebels, MG won the first meeting 4-0 shots were 49-23 MG, this game was very Physical and Derrick Benson and Mason VanTuyl were ejected for fighting.

My prediction:
Maple Grove-4
Champlin park-0
--------------------------------------------------------------
the rest of the schedule

North Metro Stars (4-15)
@
#18 Centennial Cougars (8-9-1)

Last 10, current streak
North Metro (1-9) 7L
Centennial (6-3-1) 1L

The Cougars look to stay in the heated race for the #2 seed in section 5AA, this is the first meeting this year between the teams, not much els to say, Cougars big in this one.
-------------------------------------------------

Andover Huskies (7-11)
@
Robbinsdale Armstrong (11-7)

Last ten, current streak
Andover (3-7) 3L
Armstrong (6-4) 1W

Andover won the first meeting 5-0 and i see them ending there 3 game losing streak tonite.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Coon Rapids Cardinals (5-13)
@
Elk River/Zimmerman Elks (8-11)

last 10, current streak
Coon Rapids (2-8 ) 8L
Elk River (4-6) 2L

Elks should get back to there winning ways with a fairly easy win.
This is the first meeting between these two this season.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anoka has the night off.

not a huge night for the NWSC, all eyes will be in Blaine to see who comes out on top in the fierce 3 way battle for the #2 seed in section 5AA.

Anyone know what happened to the Maple Grove player who got his wrist cut with a skate?
