An obvious three team race with Burnsville, AHA and Edina.
I have to go with the Hornets to advance to St. Paul, Burnsville's and AHA's defense are sometimes inconsistent. Goaltending and defense win section titles and I believe Edina has the edge in both departments and has more depth up front. I also believe Edina's coaching staff knows how to win come crunch time.

Nothing changes; Edina, AHA and BV are the 3 teams to watch in this section. Whoever has the hot goalie and the momentum going into sections, will WIN the section. Right now, I pick BV vs. Edina in the championship with a 4-3 win by BV (that could change if Edina turns it up a notch).starmvp wrote:Apparently Cretin beat Edina tonight. Does that change anything since Holy Angels beat Cretin? Holy Angels almost beat Edina but let up 2 in the last minute. Burnsville tied Wayzata tonight, AHA beat EP last week, there is a lot of noise right now in this section...

2AA
Unless Edina completely falls apart (they've now lost 3 in a row with 5 more games against Tonka, EP and Wayzata), they have the inside track to the #1 seed with two 5-4 section 2AA wins over Burnsville and AHA.
AHA has the edge for #2 with a win over Burnsville and a 5-3 win over EP.
Jefferson has 2 games versus Burnsville, so they could jump up to #3 with 2 wins, but Burnsville is ahead for now.
Prior Lake did beat the Jags in round 1, but the Jags are the better team.
Chan has the edge on Shako for the #6 seed with Kennedy bringing up the rear. So as of today, I see 2AA like this:
1 - Edina
2 - AHA
3 - Burnsville
4 - Jefferson
5 - Prior Lake
6 - Chanhassen
7 - Shakopee
8 - Kennedy

The seeding should be interesting. Edina has head-to-head advantages over both Holy Angels & Burnsville and there's not much argument that they've played the toughest schedule amongst the three. But Edina still faces EP twice more, Wayzata & Tonka. Burnsville has a chance to run the table.
Personally, I think if Edina gets at least 1 win & a tie, they should be the #1 seed due to the difficulty of their schedule. But if they go winless amongst those 4 & B'Ville runs the table, I think it's open to debate. The thing B'Ville does not have in their favor is head to head losses to both Edina & AHA. Should be an interesting couple of weeks ahead.

AHA or Jefferson
Interesting question. A Jefferson win could cause some havoc in 2AA.
As of now, AHA is still in the 3 spot. But a Jag win over the Blaze, coupled with a AHA loss to New Prague on Friday night in New Prague, might earn the Jags the 3rd seed.

Those wins wont matter in section seatings. Head to Head and then common opponents do. AHA beat Burnsville so they will be #2. Jefferson is hottest team in this section right now...gonna be fun to watch.Doc Holliday wrote:BUMP
I think Edina's locked up the #1 seed after taking 2 of 3 from the Eden Prairie/Wayzata/Minnetonka trio, all games on the road. The potential loss of Everson does make things interesting though.
1. Edina
2. Burnsville
3. Holy Angels
4. Jefferson
