Not sure what the cause is but according to the MNHUB Tonka has been taking a lot of very stupid penalties since the season began. It is possible they have the talent to play with the top teams in the state but not if they continue to populate the box the way they have lately. Could be related to their young D-core which may be getting legs under them but hard to tell just by reviewing game sheets.... any guesses from folks who have actually seen a game.
more penalties... Ponies win
low to no penalties... Tonka wins

Ponies scored with 5 min left in the 3rd. The ponies goalie played out of his mind, contests to the ponies on this win.

Re: rumor
Rumor also has it that once these kids took a look in the Stillwater Trophy case & couldn't find a Section Final Trophy, they decided to honor their committment to Hill-Murray. Tradition continues!jancze5 wrote:RUMOR has it, after this game, all Stillwater based Hill Murray bound hockey players have all decommited to the Pioneers and are now heading to Stillwater...tradition has begun!

Waterboy?? Man, I wish. I never made it past towelboy. There was this time (no not band camp), that the waterboy was busl filling the bottles, and he asked my to run the clipboard over to the manager during the game. Well, I just froze. I couldn't believe what I was being asked. Needless to say, I never advanced beyond towelboy.
But it was still a thrill to handout towels to the players as they came off the ice after playing in the state tournament. Something Stillwater (especially your son) has yet to experience.
