1st Annual Illinois Elite Thanksgiving Tournament
November 25-28, 2010
The Edge Ice Arena- Bensenville, Illinois

The Chicago Blues, Chicago Steel and Illinois Elite would like to take this opportunity to invite your youth hockey team to come out and participate in the 1st Annual "Illinois Elite Thanksgiving Invitational". The Chicago Blues, one of the premiere tier II hockey organizations, and The Chicago Steel of the USHL have partnered together with Illinois Elite to present this new and exciting tournament which will be taking place this November 25-November 28, 2010 at The Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville, Illinois. Participating in this tournament will give your team a chance to compete against elite teams in your division with a great opportunity for exposure. Along with the chance to watch and play competitive hockey, there will also be exciting entertainment, fun activities and delicious food for family and friends to enjoy.

Throughout the tournament participating teams also have the chance to see the Chicago Steel compete against the Youngstown Phantoms and Des Moines Buccaneers. Following the game the Chicago Steel players will hold a seminar to share their journey to the USHL. Steel head coach, Jon Waibel, a two time NCAA Division I National Champion, will also be there to answer questions regarding his personal experiences throughout his hockey career.

If you and your team are interested in attending this tournament, to receive a copy of the tournament flyer with registration information, or if you have any general questions please feel free to contact the Tournament Coordinator Karis Stone at (847) 224-5901 or kstone@chicagosteelhockeyteam.com

Please drop the word Elite from your tournament and substitute the words open level. Open level is more in line with your Tier II designation when speaking with Minnesota winter teams.

Top 10 Minnesota PeeWee teams are Elite or Tier 1
11-20 Minnesota PeeWee teams are invite level
21-100 Minnesota PeeWee teams are open level

I think the bigger problem is the overage Minnesota players in comparison to the national calendar.

All sorts of tournaments want to crack the Minnesota market for teams, but the reality is the two usually aren't compatible.
Be kind. Rewind.
